infrared35 posted:

I'm guessing it's cheap because it's an L1A1 and most of the L1A1s I've seen built up were made from seriously worn out parts kits, although it says it's got a new barrel and that's what I'd worry about the most with a kit gun like that. I had one for a while that was actually built up before the '94 ban; the parts kit had an armorer's tag on it that said "Fails to group; removed from service." And big surprise, I could never get it to shoot well.

Also, it's inch pattern which means it might be more difficult to find accessories and spare parts.

It also might have a thumbhole stock or other negativity going on.

So its a "you get what you pay for" catch I knew there was something.

Yeah, that's the one. My kitchen table FFL forwards the SOG, CDNN, and RSR catalogs to his regulars when they arrive. I'd upload the .pdf, but I'm away from a computer and the usual hosts make IE mobile choke. If anyone's interested I can upload it in an hour or two.

Come to think of it, RSR sells non-night sight Glocks for something like $440, assuming you can find an FFL who won't charge a premium for ordering from a supplier. I could upload the latest RSR catalog as well.

edit: will upload both in about 2 hours when I have access to a computer.

Armscor really outdid themselves with that rifle. I've considered buying one of their revolvers just to see if they're any good, but with used S&W revolvers available for not much more it just doesn't seem worth it.

I went through this thread and didn't see anyone mention this, and it may be obvious, but...

GET YOUR C&R

Not only do you get to save FFL transfer fee on C&R guns, not only do you get any C&R firearms shipped straight to your door, but half the websites people are listing deals for will give you the dealer price on everything (except firearms that require a regular FFL).

$30 for three years, and well worth it.

I think the prices mentioned are not in the catalog. They want 700 for that FAL but I think if you call it in, they sell it to you for 399 or whatever.

AAC .40 silencer is what, $500+? Figure $300 on the G22, $80 for 4 hi cap mags, $200 or so for the barrel upgrade puts it over the asking price.

Also, the thought of this italian enforcer needing a silencer for military service makes me chuckle.

Came here to post this. Somebody was looking for a deal on a WASR right?

Also wanted to pimp for Dunham's as their selection tends to be good and the staff friendly, if not always that knowledgeable. Never purchased firearms from them but would if the right deal lined up. Bonus points for marking their ammo up way less than Gander Mountain.

The Sun/Mon time table only applies to a couple of the guns*. The WASR runs the whole week.

*including the $200 coach gun

edit: VVV I'm hot for the Stoeger for $350; would do the same thing plus take several inches off the back end, finish with a Decelerator pad. Totally hot coach gun for <$500, ~$300 if you don't mind the external hammers. VVV

Use Gunbroker's FFL finder and just look for someone local to you who does cheap transfers. Usually it'll end up being a kitchen-table FFL or a pawn shop.

Also, as far as good deals go:

If anyone here needs to renew their NRA membership (I need it for my range) now's a decent time. They're doing a special on $25 one year memberships (normally $35) and $70 three year memberships (normally $85). The one year membership comes with what appears to be a decently serviceable duffel bag that says NRA on the side - I'll be using it for random gun poo poo - and the three year comes with that and what looks to be a kind of crappy LED flashlight. It also comes with the normal magazine subscription (American Rifleman is the one that sucks least, right?)

Anyways, cheaper than normal and with free poo poo that looks like it actually might be useful for once.

Go here to do the membership stuff (different page for the cheaper deal) and enter the offer code Y8EVWEBE.
