Why not just use one monitor with two inputs or a kvm?

Then do the same thing with a wall mount instead of directly to the monitor. Pick one with your desired level of adjustability, attach to the hanger rail with nuts,bolts, and some decent sized washers. Using two rails to better support the mount is a good idea.

You could also mount the hub to the bottom of the desk along the back edge. I've also mounted small hubs to the back of monitors with command strips.
