You could probably get a better monitor at a good will, or any dumpster near a college dorm.

I finally figured out that you can control how corsair RGB ram behaves when the software is off and the computer is asleep.

The lighting you set with “full software control off” is what it does while asleep.

Out of the box it was green when asleep and 5x as bright.

Like “this is actually a problem for movies” bright lol.

...who the hell came up with right-side intakes? About the worst placement I can think of for one (and more intake with even less exhaust is the last thing the average PC needs...). Ah well. Looks pretty bad and the vertical mount GPU just makes the issue worse, but I'm sure they'll sell boatloads because Corsair. Used to be quality hardware, at least.
I still won't use a water cooling setup so I'm not the target audience for PC parts any more, I guess.

You want less intake then exhaust? Why?

If you have more intake then exhaust then the case will have positive pressure which prevents dust from being pulled in where filters are missing. (like pci slots)

The case has 6 fans in and 4 fans out. Seems great to me.

You don't need to vertically mount the GPU. Its not required in any way.

Are we looking at the same case?

My Wife and I bought a house and I was hell bent on making it the smartest loving house in Kansas. I had so many grandious ideas on what I wanted to do, but after seeing how loving difficult it is to manage 2 smart light switches and 1 smart light bulb I said "gently caress that poo poo." I can't tell you how often I come out for a simple "Ok Google, turn on light" and I get "Sorry that switch is not responding" so I have to go over, restart the switch, etc etc, so I just said forget it!

I have never "restarted" my eve smart switch. I dont even know If I can.

I'm having a lot of success with a hue + apple tv. I even have one smart switch that has a smart bulb on the end and both work exactly how you would hope they work at all times. Still renting so I didn't want to change out all the switches but I'm moving this summer to a house and I wanted to test out a light switch.

I'm shocked my wife puts up with most light switches not working but we have apple watches so siri is always right there.

Being able to turn the whole house off and on or dimming the lights for tv/gamming is super fun.

I mostly use modes, like "day mode" for blue lights and "night mode" for warm lights.

Bedtime mode makes all lights 1% and turns a fan on in the 2 bedrooms :3:

I want to smart all the things! But god does it suck if you lose internet at your house lol. Smart switches will fix that though so im pumped to just go ham on smart poo poo.

The RGB tubes are these: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-LS10...cs%2C102&sr=1-1

They can run off a commander core XT or the box that comes with the starter kit but the XT lets you avoid having a DC power brick.

You just get an external power button for your computer.

I have one because my computer used to be on the ground and my toddler used to press the power button while I was teaching on zoom.

Even though my computer is now on my desk it’s really convenient.

Also, my case never had a hard drive LED so I wired the power LED to be the hard drive LED.

It wouldn't even be a 2 meter run, I would put it on a shelf close to the ceiling literally right under my desk in the basement. DP 3440x1440 @ 144 should be fine at that length without any amps or anything, I just don't want a bunch of wires coming up through a hole in my floor.

I use a 25 foot cable in the wall with 4k 120hz to hook our tv to our computers.

Just use officially rated cables for the length your need.

like 20-30$ gives you all you need for most monitors under 30 inches like those.

You can even find dual monitor poles at those prices.

Same thing for putting a Tv on a wall, totally worth it.

Just looking for some advice; clearly, the desk is a bit too small for both monitors and the bookshelf speakers, but it's also only a couple of years old and a nice desk (it's an Uplift). Is my best be to put the monitors on arms and get them above the speakers? If so, what kind of arms would be good for that? The big monitor is an LG Ultrawide, so any arm would need to be able to handle that.

I'd also like some sort of hooks or something to hang off the side of the desk for my headset and XBox controller.

EDIT: I suppose I should mention I very rarely work from home, this is mostly for gaming, streaming, and light productivity.

Put small monitor above main monitor.

I'm starting a new mostly-remote job in a couple of weeks so I'm in the market for a new desk. I currently have a little cramped computer desk and I hate it. I'm looking for something that can comfortably accommodate a laptop that will be mostly docked and closed, at least two decent-sized (~24") monitors, and whatever equipment I would need to switch control of the monitors, keyboard, and mouse between the laptop for work and my personal desktop for other uses. I would guess something that big would essentially be a butcher block with no drawers, which would be fine, but bonus points if it has at least a wide middle drawer and a filing drawer.

I grabbed a massive butcher block countertop from ikea and two Alex drawers.

Well, two countertops, and three Alex drawers, because we have two desks next to eachother.

Glorious 13 feet of wood and 15 drawers
