Original Game Boy game, isometric-ish POV. You play as a knight(?), I think you start off in front of some castle gates and you move screen to screen and engage in solo battle with other units in what feels like a weird action-strategy spinoff of chess or something. I never got far in it because your health doesn't refill between fights, and those fights tend to be pretty tough. Never played anything else quite like it, the name of it is the only thing that's completely escaped me.

I am attempting to remember the name (or find pictures of) a game I played in primary school around age 11/12. I cannot remember what computing system it was, but the era is 1995-1997 roughly. The fragments I remember from the game are : There was some loose environmental theme (and edutainment overtones, in retrospect) You played as a girl (I think) You visited your grandparent's house in the woods There was a mystery in the woods. I think grandparent (grandfather?) went missing I think it was point and click. Sometimes, transitioning to screens would make something happen. I recall Bad Guys who wore armour, I think it was black armour. I think the Bad Guys were heavily into industrialisation, which was the crux of the game - stop them from ripping up the forest and the like.

It's a tower defense game for the PC where you controlled a hero, you could pick from 3 classes I think, warrior wizard and archer. They had talent trees and the towers had upgrade trees. I'm pretty sure it had dungeon in the title, I was convinced it was called Deathtrap Dungeon but that's something completely different. It looked somewhat similar to Diablo 2.

Something I never played but remember seeing discussed, and thought the concept was cool - some FPS that got a bunch of fanmade map packs, and one creator made a whole bunch of maps that were perfectly normal arenas on the surface but turned out to have ridiculously huge secret complexes built underneath the main map. I don't remember which FPS and I don't remember what the maps were and my google skills are not up to the task. Ring a bell to anyone? I feel like one of them involved a giant clock, although I may be getting things muddled up with a creepypasta.

Curious about a game which I read about here, think about 10 years ago. It was a sci-fi tower defense game where you play an AI that is tasked with protecting humanity in space. The scale was big and very narrative driven. As the story continued, it became quite dark and philosophical, playing with your perception of time and the total horror your plans actually involved. I never played it but it sounded cool. Would love to try it someday if anyone remembers the title...

The thread search feature should get you plenty of hits, if you're not inclined to read the entire thread. And if I may toot my own horn, my most recent post over there links a collection of the maps, since his "Johnny the Midget" site seems to be down permanently, should anyone feel like actually playing them firsthand. Finally, people with archives would do well to take a look at Nemesis of Moles' spinoff thread from a few years back, Strange maps, weird levels, and easter eggs. Lots more cool secret stuff touched on there. Sorry to skew off topic for this thread, but I love this subject and would be remiss not to point curious people toward further discussions.

Finally found this thread on page ten, I hope it's okay to put it back on the first one. There is an old DOS game I am looking for. You were flying in a spaceship or futuristic jet and shoot things. Not sure if trading was involved. One thing that stood out were walkers you could destroy. They looked like AT-ATs but had textures that made them look like cyber-monsters. I have been looking at the most famous space shooters on mobygames for a long time but could not find it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. e: Found it. Thanks, but I should have been more clear: You are inside the ship, looking outside, like in Wing Commander, Epic, Inferno, X3 and so on. What you can see of the ship's consoles was nicely shaded, so I was reminded of the Digital Image Design games, which all have a similar feel to them. But it's none of those. Sorry for my bad explanation earlier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Image_Design e: Found it. Can anybody help me identify this game from these random loving bits and pieces? - It came out in the early 2000s - It was top down, but still 3D, so like Neverwinter Nights style or something - It was set in a dystopian future/society - The male protagonist had like...really short blond hair and round sunglasses that were orange maybe? Pretty sure his face was on the cover of the game or marketing materials. - The game was themed around psychic abilities and combat - There was definitely a set piece in which you are held captive in some Running Man-esque game show where the contestants answer questions and die if they get them wrong on broadcast. - It is not a well-known or remembered game I feel like the game title had something to do with Inferno/Infernal maybe? Certainly there was some pyrokinetic based powers. Maybe it just began with the letter I? Google is singularly unhelpful.

Images of a game I'd heard about but didn't play came to me. This was a horror game where the conceit was that it partially? took place in a video game that had somehow been haunted or corrupted. I think the game-within-a-game in question kinda resembled NES era Dragon Quest. It was for a handheld system, one of the DS or PSPs, I think.

I remember seeing an image from either an old arcade game or a modern throwback that was just a text screen saying something like "Touch as much booty as you can! Kill the wizard when you see him!" and I was wondering what that was from. I can't find the image itself and searching those phrases does give me some pretty interesting results, but nothing that helps me figure out what it is.
