Also, are the tips for Odin Sphere that are on the wiki applicable to the remake as well? I'm picking that up next week.

It looks as though pretty much all the tips have been updated to apply to the remake, so you should be good.

You can also break the doors that require currency to open.

I think it curses you? I haven't tried it.

Breaking those does indeed curse you.
