The reviews of their new phones are largely positive, but I still think it's too late. As Microsoft found out, you can make a great phone os and have reviewers say nice things about that and the hardware, but people still won't necessarily buy the phones. Anecdotally, everyone I know who has a windows phone really likes it but they still have trouble convincing others. The one thing which might save BlackBerry is to start offering BBM as a service - make apps for other devices, keep the strong encryption, and charge in some way.

Walter_Sobchak posted:I don't see the problem with adding work folks on Facebook. Of course, the people I HAVE added wouldn't ever ask me to help them out with home stuff, so I suppose that's a bit of a caveat. And for the love of god, people, DON'T add work email to your personal phone. Are you insane? For some godforsaken reason there's a bit of a tradition at our place that you will accept friend requests from management. Nothing formal in policy of course, just a hint here and there. I weighed up the pros and cons of being 'that guy' who refuses and then decided on the following: - Set up super-mega-restricted list for management - Accept friend request - Immediately place said 'friend' onto super-mega-restricted list for management End result: they can now see less than if they hadn't bothered to add me as a friend in the first place, and the situation has turned from them monitoring me to me monitoring them whilst I appear to be toeing the line.

WHERE MY HAT IS AT posted:Wait, for real? How do you know this? I'd also be interested to know whether there is any evidence to back that statement up, since I'm pretty sure at least one person in this thread or the other one has used that service and had good results.
