Not a bad car though, tbh, with a 5 speed it’s quite enjoyable.

Bigger, nicer inside, and more technology than my F31 330d - yet a fair amount cheaper each month. I decided to get something slower since I virtually never used the power.

I can’t post a pic of them side by side because I guess the image is too big for the awful app and I’m away from my computer, but I did something similar and also with Audis! Old one was grey, new one is green. Your post made me do some looking and now I have been eyeballing Urus or some fancier Audi shifter paddles, the stock ones on my Q5 aren’t nearly as nice-feeling as my Hyundai’s were.

Just a background my car is a CPO'd cayman:

- Picked it up and the car had a broken center console USB port and leaky CV joint
- Porsche fixed it under warranty but it took 8 weeks and when they brought my car back they didn't attach the rear brake ducting so it went right back to the shop because the ducting was just dragging on the ground
- Belt tensioner broke and took the belt with it
- Passenger window motor died
- The drive mode selector will randomly start going through drive modes
- Rear camera works 50% of the time

I've had the car a year this month and while I can deal with an unreliable car it's really the Porsche dealer support that is a big let down. Top to bottom from buying my car to taking it for warranty repairs Porsche dealers are some of the worst I've ever dealt with. I love my car but I cant wait to get rid of it.

I think it's multifaceted personally. Porsche has this reputation of reliability but after owning one and hanging with other Porsche owners online and in person they really do spend a lot of time in the shop. My buddy's dad had a 992 Carrera S that suffered turbo failure at 500 miles, that same buddy owned a 2017 991.2 and it was always in the shop, the last straw was his getting his radiator fixed, the dealer didn't secure the hoses properly so when he drove away it spewed coolant everywhere.

I think it makes it doubly bad because the dealers in my region are true clowns. I bought a CPO because I wanted piece of mind against repairs for a used car but I'm convinced that shops here are incompetent. Every time I get my car back there is always a random tool left somewhere, or some trim piece not attached, or in my last repair a trim tab broken so now my cabin rattles like loving crazy.

I snapped the last time I was getting work done, every time I bring my car in I get some stupid rear end spiel about Porsches racing heritage and reliability and I just went "dude, shut the hell up with this reliability bullshit, why would I take my car to the track when it can't make it to McD's"

There is also a strong cult following with Porsche, I posted on rennlist about my car/dealer expereience and I got flooded with "MY CAR HAS A BILLION MILES IT AMAZING, NO PORSCHE HAS HAD ANY PROBLEMS EVER"

Anyway, end rant lol. I'm putting an order in for an M3 in a few weeks so I'll be rid of it soon enough.

That's an awesome S4! How reliable are those tunes? I remember going down the rabbit hole of APR tunes on Audi and they seemed like they were fairly reliable.

So I went from February knowing next to nothing about Alfa to buying one in September.

My main priorities are getting decent all-season tires on the rims it so I don't kill myself when it gets cold and a decent set of snow tires for the winter.

It drives as advertised. Extremely docile an d easy to maneuver in traffic and then you get into the open highway and punch it and it roars to life and it goes exactly where you point it. It's like nothing else I've ever driven, the closest thing I've owned before is my '92 Nissan Sentra SE-R, but even that is a light year away from this.
