This is a picture I took very early this morning! It's a 99 Forester L automatic. It's actually my dad's car, I have a 2006 Mazda 3 to my name, but I left it in California so my brother could help me drive back to Seattle after the summer was over (he can't drive stick). Everybody has seen Mazda 3s so I'll just put the pic of the Subaru.

Bought a 1986 560SEL for my girlfriend as a daily driver. It's at 145k miles right now and still kicking! This is the project car that has got me into working on cars. It's surprisingly easy to work on this car, it's extremely well designed and in my opinion, classy. Just wish I had more disposable income to use for euro headlights, new suspension, and re-upholstering the car :(

I've seen one of these with 400,000 miles. It seemed to be in pretty good shape too. I wasn't in any position for another car though.

Is it beached here?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by beached, but I think that's supposed to be a drifting action shot. There's a tiny amount of smoke behind the rear wheel, which also *appears* to be turning faster than the front wheels, but that could be because of the mis-matched wheels.

Most states (Florida included) only allow you to tint the top of the windshield. Actually, as I understand it, the tint laws in Florida were established when I was a kid living there, as there were some cops killed on traffic stops because they couldn't see the driver holding a gun.

Oh yeah, not everybody follows the law when it comes to tinting. :)

It's pretty boring; parked car at bottom of driveway one night, no issue. Got in the next morning, and start driving up driveway in reverse. Since I have a steep driveway, and a 22lbs flywheel/clutch combo (11lbs each,) I tend to go WOT halfway up then let off. Well, when I let off, the car didn't. About half a second later, over a curb, and into a tree. Ruined the rear, two wheels, and my mind. The back impacted enough to push the wheelwell into the tire. Anyway, it's going to be perfect (mild bodykit, new paint, etc) when I get it back, so I'll be happy. (loving $10,000 later, though.)

I've never seen such a failure; the cable is fine, but the valves themselves are sticking open, they can be closed by hand but that doesn't help me much.

This car has had more money poured into it, I'm never getting rid of it at this point. At least $30,000 in the past, what, 5 or 6 years I've had it. (including the cost of the car, but we're well over that amount in repairs/mods at this point)

Edit: Oh I'm sure it's no Toyota, motherfucker destroys parts like noone's business

I love my car even though it abuses me :smith:

I know there are some race series that mandate you to have dual return springs. Maybe you could look into something like that for (well hopefully not) next time.

Excuse the bad pic, but this baby just got out of the factory today and I'm still excited (56km on the odometer so far). I've swapped my 2009 C220 CDI for this one and the difference is amazing! The engine is so quiet compared to the 4cyl C220 and the 7-speed transmission is smooth as butter.

The best part is the mileage: 7,7l/100km so far.. I couldn't believe my eyes. What a great car...

I've never really followed Mercedes, but that C class styling looks very nice to me.

He drove me around in my own car

It was like magic. Every time he took a turn I could swear the front end was going to fly out, but that man knows what he was doing. Stayed glued to the road. I wish I could drive :negative:

He did like the car though! Said he had heard a lot about mazda3's but had never driven one. He seemed impressed with my little econobox.

In my experience the 3 handles very confidently. It's easy to direct, and although you can feel how nose heavy it is, it's very easy to get going where you want it to.

A little late on this reply but no, not without modification. The bits I have to solder together enable the CD changer port that those things plug in to. This problem is specific to 2004 models.

However, when I get some more spare cash I might just replace the entire center console with one of these so I can get a more modern head unit and have more options for upgrading the sound system in the future.

I know my Auxmod plugs into the tape deck port, but that only gives you a 3.5mm input, not an iPod control. Maybe you could find somebody selling a 2005 model radio for cheap or something.

This is another reason why I like the German road system better. You can actually petition the government for the cost of repair if a neglected road damages your vehicle.. and that includes damage caused by debris left on the motorway. I guarantee you giving the government the choice between repairing a road and repairing a car.. it's almost universally cheaper to just fix the drat road.

you can do this in the u.s. usually
