What's really funny about nanowrimo is they never did any quality check, people submitted padded stories that repeated the same word for multiple pages just to very very very very very technically corss thd finish line. If they hadn't said anything about accessiblity and had just said "we only count words, we've always been about quantity, we aren't gonna start policing quality now", they would have been fine.

it just seems so insane, the whole point of wrimo was getting your bad art on the page, there was never any actual reward, so why on earth would you ever use AI

Do high-quality Gel Pens exist? My sister loved the gel pens manufactured by a company named Grabie but they recently completely changed the design and I guess they suck now, but I'm not sure where to even point her for quality gel pens, it seems like any of the serious art supply manufacturers don't touch them. e: Specifically I mean colorful ones, the ones she loved were glitter gel pens. I know Uniball makes the Signo DX which I hear is nice but as far as I know it's only black ink? e2: Okay apparently there are in fact colorful glitter Signo DX! But if anyone is aware of any others I'd still like to hear about them deep dish peat moss fucked around with this message at 21:51 on Nov 25, 2025 |

Look through the gel pens section on jetpens. They have a bunch of different quality gellies. Yeah, gellies.

There's lots of such things in model-making shops, you'll have to look around to find the right scale, theme, period, and story that you're looking for, though. https://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/category/HOScaleSAEconomyPacks https://www.megahobby.com/categories/figure-models/large-figures.html

Er, yeah, sorry. I guess those bigger ones on that site are actual model kits all on their own. Still, it's gonna be in the "scale plastic figures for models and dollhouse displays" section of any hobby store. A lot of them are unpainted, though, as that's part of the draw for folks, of course. If you're just wanting a few articulated figures for dollhouses, or some dioramas, you could switch to looking for actual everyday action figures and dolls. There are generic mannequin ones, or you can even source bodies and head sculpts separately, and clothing, etc. and build a person. Do you know what scale you're looking for? That would also help out a lot in searching rather than looking for "scale figures" generally. Edit: I'm having some success with searching "scale figures for dioramas". Put "dollhouse dioramas" if you want specifically the dolls-with-fabric-clothing kind. Leads me to things like this at various scales: https://a.co/d/hf3XIRP mutata fucked around with this message at 20:00 on Dec 10, 2025 |

Thank you. I'm looking for some detail - like 10 cm tall and a variety of male figures. I think that I have enough info to figure it out from here. Nothing crazy!
