Maxes out at 62k as it's a backfill. Definite room for growth, though.

Edit: Tim specifically is looking for someone with an eagerness to learn. He doesn't care about your degree or your background as long as you have some technical skills, interest, and a willingness to learn. He's happy to train. If you've been wanting to get into a tech career because of interest but not necessarily background, this may be a really great starting point for you. Tim is a great guy, and he's very serious when he says that thirst for the job is more important than walking into the room already knowing the job.

I'll find out for you! Net Health had a rough history in terms of salary but did a big re-evaluation last year that brought things much more into line with national standards.

Do you think this would be a good position to transition from help desk to? My current job doesn't have much opportunity for advancement or expanding my role so skills are a little stale. I'm really trying to find something that has pretty explicit room for growth without moving laterally.

A friends brother has gone down to Antarctica I think three times now? Maybe two. He missed last season because he didn't have time for the full quarantine. This year he had to quarantine for two weeks in SF and then two weeks in NZ and this was an actual quarantine where they leave food outside your door and you never see anyone. I can't recall how he wrangled the job but he runs the kitchen. He has to schedule time to use the internet for like video chat and poo poo.

I interviewed for a job a few years ago that involved periodically going on a coast guard ice breaker and supporting the researchers IT poo poo. I would imagine its pretty similar. Lots of reading and watching movies and getting ripped at the gym. I got referred to it via someone sharing a job post through a local user group.
