At this point, the only thing Ippo really needs to do is to start working in up-down or down-up on the hooks. Something he frankly should have done a lot sooner, but whatever, you get down with your bad self, Morikawa.

That said, I am really wishing that we'd get some refinement on the other, specialty one-off punches we've seen. I mean, off the top of my head, there was the Gazelle into the gut, (Volg) which could very well be the source for the heartbreak shot (Gedo) and the anti-clinch (Sanada, Sendo, others)

Kumi arranges a referral for Ippo to go see a brain specialist, after a discussion about CTE with him. Ippo does a full round of scans and finds that while he's showing some symptoms, he isn't fully punch drunk, but he's at a high risk if he chooses to continue boxing the way he does. Ippo then visits the gym, and has a meeting with Kamogawa, where he declares that he's retiring while he's still relatively healthy, and after a farewell from Takamura, he does the leaf-catching exercise from the start of the series.

1208 ends with a statement saying that it will continue on to the next issue - ergo, not done yet.

Just thought to mention since it's kind of a big thing, but 1215 is officially the last chapter with I-O. Puar (uncredited on their scans, but who's been involved with the joint since it began) has been boggled down by real life like most responsible people, and oni (the tl) chose to wait for him. Mangastream decided to move on without them for the rest of the series.

I figure nobody will notice or care cuz who really cares about credits on illegal mangos, but it was my best friend's passion project for almost 15 years and I wanted to put that out somewhere for someone to read it, at least
