I'm looking into picking up my first deck and was looking for an optinion on this complete http://www.boardshop.com.au/servlet/the-5276/BLACK-LABEL-GAME-BOY/Detail I plan on mostly using this board for commuting but will be learning tricks as I go. Apart from the wheels the rest of the kit seems fine. I'll be looking at getting some softer wheels straight away just not sure on how big I can go. Any recommendations for a suitble size? Can't wait to start, wish I had a local shop in my area, the only one I could find was a chain surf store which sold scratched up Flip completes for $250, gently caress that. Edit: Doesn't note the truck manufacturer which worries me. iCaPpY fucked around with this message at 03:21 on Jul 28, 2010 |

Obscuritatem posted:Sorry, double post. Looking at the drop-down it seems to be a choice between Cargo and Tracker. I've never heard of Cargo (they look alright though, like Venture copies) and Tracker are an old school brand so should be ok. I'm fairly sure they'll be 7.75 though. I don't mind 7.75 trucks on an 8'' deck but I tend to skate really wide spits, so if you've got skinny base wheels they might feel a bit narrow for you. Cheers for the info, I was planning on getting bigger softer wheels for commuting so that should help. I'll probably look at some wider trucks pretty soon anyways if it will help stabilize.

Just ordered my first board. I ended up deciding on the Tracker trucks after checking them out, grabbed a skate tool too. Can't wait for it to come in, getting it delivered to work so I don't have to wait till I get home ![]()

Snap Your Fingers posted:I'm shooting some skate stuff to air on the TV channel I work for tomorrow. It's probably going to be edited into a pretty dry package for our morning show and/or some trick tips, but I'll try to piece my own thang together and show you guys. Can't wait. My board still hasn't come in yet ![]()

Hey are there any Melbourne goons out there who can recommend me a good skate shop to go to somewhere close the city center?

ssergE posted:Just wondering what people make of these boards in 8inch for me (6 foot 1, 85Kg)? I just recently brough a complete off these guys and they are great, I got the Tracker trucks with mine. Both boards are good but I personally would go for the Enjoi because it has a nice clean graphic. Apart from the stock hard 52mm wheels the board comes with the package is great, would highly recommend getting yourself a set of 54mm soft wheels while your kicking around getting comfortable with the board. The Tracker trucks I got with it had quite soft bushes so if you want something a bit harder pick up some bushes too.

Sirkus posted:Road report: Roads have been getting clearer and clearer in Montreal, skated some flat today with the crew. My three flips used to be the first trick I did with good consistency, but now it seems like I have to relearn how to do them proper again. On the plus side my kickflips used to be decent or rocketflips, now I can get them to suck up into my feet.

Sirkus posted:Words/Pics I loved the vid/pics from your last trip so this is a treat. Can't wait for the video. As for the whole skate haters thing, worst I have had so far is a grumpy old man telling us to go skate at the local skate park to which I just politely reply "I know, but I like this area better" and they walk off in a grump.
