I usually just take the wheel & bearings out and use a Q-tip to clean them up a bit, works fine for me.

Anyway, used to skate about 3 years ago. I just picked it up again the other week.
I can still manage things like kickflips no problem. Trying to get my old tricks like fakie tre flips back. Need to get back in practice again. :(

I was randomly skating with my friends this weekend trying random tricks. Managed to land a 360 ollie on my third try. was almost landing fakie inward heels but the board always ends up upside down.

Yeah mongo isn't too bad when starting out, but it's terrible down the line when you need to set up. I even taught myself how to push and ride in switch properly so I could avoid riding mongo when I'm doing switch/fakie.

Anyway I just got my new setup last night which means today should be fun if it stops raining.

FAKEEDIT: Tony Hawk is overrated. ;)

I used to boot aswell as board and I did both for a few years, Neither one affected the other as they were both done so differently in my eyes. so one didn't really step into the other sports boundaries, if anything they both helped develop my balance a lot more.

gently caress me from the time I was 12 I was skating for hours every day. I just got on a skateboard for the first time in almost a decade at my girlfriends house and tried a fakie bigspin and almost landed it except for the fact that the board slid out from under me and I fell flat on my rear end. poo poo. I'm going to hopefully be building a backyard ramp because there's a lot of space in the garden and we have a lot of lumber and it would be nice to have something to do like that again.
