just wanna let you all know that i'm trying to start a petition to nationally legalize skateboarding / build more public skateparks. i realize that i will most likely fail miserably but it's worth a shot, and i'd be really stoked if anyone here signed or wanted to help out in anyway. its at skatefriendly.com or myspace.com/skatefriendly.

not sure if this is considered spam or not but i'll take it down immediately if it is.

I'm totally for creating more skateparks, but the efforts for 'legalization' of what is essentially vandalism is a bit much and will get you nothing but grief from anyone in a position of power.

There are a lot of really good ways to get attention from your local city council, but honestly an online petition isn't going to be one of them.

You need real life signatures, as well as a noticeable presence in your local city council meetings. Also, there is no real need to recreate the wheel here, there are dozens of online resources out there to help you get a grassroots skatepark campaign underway.

Not trying to bum you out or anything, but it really looks like you need to do a lot more research before moving forward.

Thanks for the honest words and I suppose you're right. I'm going to have to rethink my plan, with a bit more realism.

Helloooo goons!

I am just starting my hobby deck brand and am looking for a couple people to review them for me. So far everyone I know that's bought one loves them, but I want to make sure they're goon-approved. They're made in the US by a reputable manufacturer so i promise you won't be riding junk china wood.

You won't have to pay for anything except for shipping. Only catch is that you skate hard enough and often enough (i.e: everyday) that you have the authority to judge quality. So if you or someone you know is obsessed with skateboarding, you've got footage to back it up, then drop me an email at mailtime@skatefriendly.com and then we'll experiment to see if you think my boards suck or not.

Gracias.

A couple of months ago skatefriendly sent me a bunch of boards to try out with my friends:

Gripped and ready to go

He included grip too which is really awesome, definitely a steal for decks at that price. Usually I'm pretty skeptical with blank boards but the quality on these are awesome. The first thing I noticed when I stepped on the board was how stiff it was. (Bucket Joneses: it is scientifically proven that if you skate a skatefriendly you will, in fact, learn huge 3 flips.)

I usually ride DLX boards or Studio's but I'd definitely get these boards again. The homies were really psyched on the boards and the responses were all positive. The only gripe is that they don't make a board in my size 8.125!

We filmed a small edit with the boards recently, it'll be up as soon as one of us decides to edit it.

Wow, wasn't expecting this . I'm so stoked you guys like the decks so much, I'll look into getting 8.125's for the next batch and maybe a design not so minimalistic if i can find a good artist. Thanks for putting a good word in for me. I can't wait to see the new footage, if its anything like your past montages it'll be very fun to watch.
