I rode 7.75 for a long time because I figured 8" would be too big and heavy, but I tried it and it doesn't feel heavier, it just gives you more board to move around on and a slightly bigger surface to catch when you flip. Somehow it just feels more stable under my 10.5 feet.
100% agree. I ride 8.5" because I have size 15 feet, and I can't imagine riding anything smaller. The board flips unpredictably when I ride anything below 8". It cracks me up when pros skate 8.25-8.5" decks but don't sell any of their own pro models above 8" wide.

On a side note: if anyone's interested, my skate shop is running a goon-only discount on the entire store. Here's the SA-Mart thread.

I'm guessing this was a troll.

Shane's part was incredible, and I think the Berrics has done something pretty important by releasing the content for a reasonable price - with the proceeds helping a young dude kick-start his professional career.
I thought it was good, but it didn't really blow me away. I think I was expecting 3 minutes of NBDs because it's the first time someone tried to sell a single video part online. It's a big milestone and I was hoping for an impact like Guy Mariano in Mouse or Mike Mo in Fully Flared. Maybe I'm just jaded in my old age and video parts don't have the same magic they used to.

When I see how Berra threatens people who post the video, it seems like a homegrown version of the RIAA. In an industry that has always made a mockery of copyright law, I really don't want to see skate videos protected in this way.

Some of you guys might have seen my goon-discount skate shop, Skately.

After 6 months of data entry, we just launched the Skately Library, a huge database of skate videos, skate brands, and riders from the past and present. It took an unbelievable amount of work to get this online. Seriously, we have every skateboarder and brand tagged in tens of thousands of video clips. Once you start clicking around, you can see how vast the site is.

We're not trying to be the hub for new releases, because that can get nasty. We're just trying to organize videos that have existed on YouTube for years, and make recommendations better than they could.

Give the site a look and let me know what you think.

Glad you guys like it. I find myself watching video after video, and I've been working on it for months. A lot of this stuff just never gets old.

This is so awesome. I was working on a project like this but abandoned it due to the scale of the whole thing. This is going to be one of my new favorite websites. Thanks.
Thanks, glad you like it. Spread the word!

drat, nice find. That's one of my favorite Powell graphics from the 80s, I hope to get that deck in decent shape to hang on my wall one day.

We are working on a new and improved website that will be online before the end of the month. I'm planning to post a new SA Mart thread once it is up and running. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.

Got my order from Skate.ly and was pretty disappointed with the quality of the grip job. It's well cut but there are bubbles at the tail/nose joints. :(

Man, I'm really sorry about that. Pre-assembled boards are gripped by the manufacturer and they usually do a pretty good job. Can we send you a new sheet of grip tape?

We used to have a fair amount of Landyachtz stuff, but our distributor hasn't received anything since February. I'll hit them up and see if there are any shipments coming in soon.
