I mostly just ride, don't (read: can't) really do tricks. I prefer small decks, small wheels, quick bearings and loose trucks. I currently have a 7.5" Girl deck with Tensor trucks. 50mm Autobahn Wheels came stock with Autobahn Abec-5s in them. The bearings are actually pretty smooth for stock.

Love my set up and try to ride everyday. Who knows, I might even learn to kickflip someday.

quick edit: best shop in Northern California is Bill's Wheels in Santa Cruz. Totally worth the trip if you live anywhere near it.

I was thinking of getting Bones Reds for my new complete. From what I know they're pretty much the best for their price. How much more expensive are Black bones? I don't remember them (I also haven't been to a skateshop in like 5 years so.... )

Reds aren't quick enough for me. I'd used them when I first started, in fact they were pretty much all I used. I had them on my first complete when I started skating again and actually grew frustrated with them.

I like my Autobahn Abec-5s. They aren't the quickest, but they got a smoothness to them that I like. And they are pretty reasonable, you can get a set for around 10 to 12 bucks.

I haven't really skated in a year because I snapped my last deck and never had the money to replace it. But the weather started to get nice in Vancouver, and what's $100 more in credit card debt? Nothing.

I went to PD's and got a new Skull Skates set up that I'm happy with. 8" with 56mm hard as poo poo wheels and Tracker trucks. House bearings and grip. I might get some ceramics when I have the money because the northwest rusts everything.

I wasn't good when I was skating regularly, but I am hot garbage right now. Holy poo poo. New scars, scrapes, cuts and bruises. Feels good.

edit: also Emerica's Hsu 2 shoes are really comfortable and provide pretty good ankle support.
