I've been watching him for quite a few years and I think most of his videos are really interesting and informative. It's a bit unfortunate that he bases his character around an obnoxious, foul-mouthed scat fetishist(even though some swearing has its place in a gig like his) but other than that the guy has a lot of fascinating knowledge about the history of gaming and I appreciate him for that.

He does hate the Spiderman games and points out something that is inherent in all Nintendo controllers, the d pad is a cross.. how are you supposed to do diagonal? It never works properly. The Sega Megadrive/Genesis did it properly with its control pad.

Out of all of his characters, Nerdy Turd is the worst. I'm actually embarrassed to show friends the Odyssey video because of it, and it sucks, because the hardware is interesting to learn about and watch. On the other hand, I went through a bunch of his Cinemassacre stuff, and it's fantastic, for the most part. It made me put a bunch of Godzilla films on my Netflix account.

For the record, he uploaded another video on his Youtube account today; it's the Star Trek video from a year ago. It's packed with the gimmicks we all loathe and a prime example why he should stick to matter-of-fact reviews. He's unusually good when he's ripping games apart on fundamental levels.

thatguywiththeglasses.com posted this video yesterday. It is a major crossover between Angry Video Game Nerd, Nostalgia Critic and many other reviewers from thatguywiththeglasses.com. Some of the acting and a good part of the effects are pretty lame, plus there is some in-jokes which not anyone may understand. But it is still awesome in a Ultimate-Showdown-Of-Ultimate-Destiny kind of way. Utritum fucked around with this message at 14:35 on May 10, 2009 |

I find Angry Video Game Nerd videos are best watched by skipping ahead until he actually inserts a game/breaks out a console and should be exited around the time he glares at the camera with a stupid face with about a minute left in the video.

I just started catching up on AVGN videos these past two weeks. They're all really good. Even those little skits, while not hilarious, are decent enough and much better than the stuff I've seen other people try to do. Except for the Christmas one with that Captain S guy or whatever. Sometimes the ranting does seem a bit forced, but it really doesn't bother me that much.

At the end of the NES accessories episode you see a glimpse of ROB and a promise of a future review. Did he ever do this? I'm sure I've seen it for some reason but it's not in the episode list.

I've been watching his stuff for a while and I appreciate his stuff for the most part. The recording quality is awesome, I think, and for a dude in a basement, the effects and stuff are fun too. Die Hard is probably one of my favorite reviews. It's informative and funny. "There're guys coming out of elevators, out of doors, out of my rear end!" Sometimes it gets a little too silly, with the poo poo Pickle and the Nerd Turd or diarrhea dumps or whatever. But his delivery of the word "gently caress" usually sells it for me. "This game loving sucks! It sucks so much it fucks!" Maybe if he drank something other than Rolling Rock he wouldn't be so angry. However, I think his Cinemassacre stuff is wicked cool. Jackie Chan ftw

I do like the line, "You want Genesis? You can have Genesis!" He's probably my favorite internet personality, which isn't saying much really. But hey, it's free entertainment, even if it is kinda gimicky sometimes. I can certainly appreciate his hit or miss style of creativity which is something I lack in every sesne of the word. So I certainly understand, true artist put out a lot of crap, but his good stuff definitley makes up for it. For every "poo poo" based character, there's a really good innovation, like with the Battletoads review. Also, the whole Atari sex games chronology is a great way to make uninformed friends go, "what the gently caress?"

Well as someone who has watched AVGN for a long time I'm a huge fan of his. Not only are the videos funny, but you can tell that he has a genuine love not only for video games but film as well which can be seen from all his movie reviews and top tens on his site. He also seems like a genuinely nice guy, which is rare on the internet. Whenever he's out of character he seems very down to earth and you get the feeling that he does just want to make videos because the fans enjoy them, not to gain popularity. And I think it is very generalizing too to say that his videos are just swearing, it's like saying The Simpsons is just about Homer saying 'Doh'. Sure it's a big staple of the show and a catchphrase, but it's not everything about it.

I liked that episode. For both games, you look at it first thinking "Well, that doesn't look that bad at all." Then he cuts it down like a tree and shows why it's completely unplayable. And I dug that music sample from the Sega CD game.

That was actually a decent review. I'm surprised he didn't touch on the Genesis version as well, considering that if you know what you're doing, you can beat it in under 15 minutes.

Here's a link for the lazy: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/angry-video-screwattack/49453 I have to laugh every time he notices the LJN logo on something. I love the AVGN. His reviews are so in depth that you feel like you've played the whole game after watching a ten minute video. I'm not a big fan of his characters or profanity-laced rants, but the bulk of his videos' content makes up for it. I find them very interesting to watch. The editing is top-notch as well.

You weren't kidding. I just watched a playthrough on Youtube where the guy beat the game on the hardest difficulty in that amount of time. Did they even test the game before shipping it with four very easy levels? It's not even a matter of knowing where to go because the levels are linear as hell.
