I don't think MPC or VLC can but is there another software? In MPC, check Remember File position under Player in the options menu.

No, he's right. It's the same as people getting worked up over the keylogging. This is a pre-alpha to make sure poo poo doesn't burn down, you shouldn't be actively using it.

All antivirus programs are placebos and don't do anything, so you should go with the simplest and least resource intensive, which is the one built into Windows.

I have windows 7 on a 2tb drive at the moment and I got my SSD after that drive and I've always been too lazy to install windows on the SSD. Now that windows 10 is out I thought I'd finally use my SSD for my windows install but the way this upgrade works is sorta weird You don't. Install your SSD, upgrade to Windows 10, then you can do a fresh Windows install onto the SSD.

If you're planning to play older games you should stick with Windows 7 because Microsoft made bad dumb under the hood changes in 8 and 10 to the way old versions of DirectX can handle memory.

You don't need to do anything to Windows 10 to make it usable and whatever you did is probably what broke it.

What you're doing is the equivalent of going to the ER with a migraine and demanding they drill holes in your head and smear you with virgin blood. Your knowledge and expectations are completely out of date. My 8 year old knows HTML, duder. It's really not that hard to learn and ends up being much faster and easier than outdated editors because you actually know how and what you're doing.

You can run most of your favourite windows apps from linux directly and still have a stable, relatively secure, not spying on you and wonderful to develop in operating system. For that one word or excel application that you launch once per year ... yeah, not really worth it even with a $0 windows price. So what you’re saying is that 2018 is the year of Linux on the desktop?
