But EAX would never have worked on a Asus p5b, I have one and it never did, or it was eax v1.0 and all it added was massive reverb.

Most recent games just use software audio processing since it's barely a blip on a modern CPU, is completely cross platform and isn't locked into a single vendor for decent support.

The uproar when all the 16 year olds found out their Creative Mega Platinum Fatal-One-Ty X-Fi cards wouldn't do anything special under Vista was pretty funny though.

Codec packs? Zoom player? Did we travel 15 years back in time?

These days just use MPC-HC or VLC.
