Most recent games just use software audio processing since it's barely a blip on a modern CPU, is completely cross platform and isn't locked into a single vendor for decent support. The uproar when all the 16 year olds found out their Creative Mega Platinum Fatal-One-Ty X-Fi cards wouldn't do anything special under Vista was pretty funny though.
