I'm doing research for a novel on the post war reconstruction of Japan and would also like to know about the relationship between Japan, Okinawa and the US throughout the post war period and up to the present day. Information about Asia in general from 1939 onward would be appreciated. As would firsthand accounts of military personnel stationed in Okinawa. I'd also like some good books concerning Afganistan during the US led invasion and the 2003-2005 period in Iraq.
