Dudes get crazy aggro when they think pussy is on the line. interesting. i got punched directly in the mouth totally unexpectedly as a breakdown started (that i didnt know was coming) like 15 years ago and my teeth were ok. im lucky i didnt bust a lip or whatever. but what i worry about most is a scenario like that where the dude's fist is even like an inch or two higher and my nose gets completely obliterated. knock on wood ive never been irreparably damaged at a show. funny you mention collarbone due to botched stage dive bc i thought i broke mine at a TAS show about 7 years ago. turns out it was just a tear but it hurt like a mother fucker. and i think i might have sprained my ACL at a show like two months ago. still hurts. at some point ill hang up the mosh shorts for good. maybe.

As a smaller dude, I feel it is my duty to stage dive / crowd surf as much as I can, which leads to me getting dropped a fair bit. I always appreciate the scramble to catch me or get me back on my feet, but I'm counting down the days til I'm officially too old to get radical.

One of my first shows as a kid (it was like an emo show too) some kid wearing a spike bracelet did a wild swing and took a significant chunk of someone else's nose off so I've always been a little wary of pits

lol I took a stray windmill straight to the nose at Terror a few weeks ago and the dude immediately stopped and turned to check who he'd hit. We made eye contact, I gave him a quick "I'm good" nod, and he went right back to it.

I went to the Continent record release show in 08 and got entirely blindsided with a fist in the pit and my right eye was swollen shut and had a huge shiner for like weeks. After the show I drank a bunch of codeine cough syrup my friend had in his car and explained to DL and Vincent why I looked so hosed up, lol

So I know very little about hardcore. I know very little about anything really, but I’ve listened to the latest ep and album from Kublai Khan Tx and they are both awesome. I listened to Spite their newest album that has been released and it’s also great. What else would I want to look for in the genre? I know both bands are pretty different so I’m open to bands that are similar to either.

I just saw boundaries last night and they had the chance to be good but there were these tremendously awful singing moments. I can’t fathom how anyone let them sing and think it’s passable. Thanks a bunch for all the recommendations I’m going to check these all out.

bands who tack on singing parts is part of the so-bad-and-angsty-its-actually-good charm of metalcore, but i don't necessarily disagree with you. i skipped around the entire latest boundaries album on spotify quickly and didn't come across a single clean-singing part, even though i know they're there. it's such a small amount in comparison to the dummy angry guy breakdowns that it gets a pass for me.

Although, I will say their EP from last year really grew on me and was a go-to for gym music. All 3 tracks (plus the singles they've dropped since) are all very samesie, but they work well when you just need noise to lift heavy stone to Also, I like those new Spiritbox tracks way more than most of what was on their LP. Hope they do more stuff like that
