lolol finn might have controversial opinions that he definitely leans into bc it makes people butthurt, but im not sure that makes him a "garbage human."

his linkedin posts are overwhelmingly positive with good advice for people looking to take their careers to new heights. he seems like he genuinely enjoys trying to help the kinds of people who want to be independent or get out of their dead end jobs, etc.

i appreciate his approach to content creation bc he's obviously doing it right by "blowing up" (ie living comfortably without a 9-5 just making shitpost youtube videos about how babymetal sucks) and seemingly making the content he wants to make.

if you think he's a bad person bc he makes a post about music that you disagree with:

1. he "wins" by getting under your skin
2. you should reevaluate how seriously you take your music opinion

Sticking up for Ronnie Radke makes him a garbage human in my mind. The first vids fed to me was him calling him a genius and ranting about cancel culture and wokeness, and a garbage essay meanwhile tearing down Henry Rollins. Real "punk". He's allowed to think Linkin Park are great. Apologizing for an accused rapist/transphobe like Ronnie is not.

Does anyone have any recommendations for strong punk/metal essay/review youtube channels. My feed keeps getting The Punk Rock MBA recommendations and Id like alternatives especially as after sampling only a few videos its apparent that Finn Mckenty is a garbage human.

EDIT: Yeah its my own fault for inserting a derail by ragging on Finn McKenty but I actually want some recommendations please.

Lololol he's either a Goon or ShoogaSlim went to him for a head pat which is it.

He's a bootlicker rear end in a top hat with bad taste, so gently caress him.

Edit: The only heavy music channels I follow are BangerTV and The Punk Historian. The best music related channel on youtube IMHO is Trash Theory. It's extremely well researched and the guy who runs it seems like a cool guy.

Banger TV sounds good. I forgot about Sam Dunn's projects, glad he's still going. Last I remember seeing from his crew was the Alice Cooper movie.

at the stick to your guns, kublai khan, belmont, foreign hands show

this venue is like a mix of a mid-to-large arena plus a dave and busters (house of blues anaheim) and it is quite possible the worst venue ive ever been to. the line getting in is like going to a theme park + someone broke down in front of me in the enormous parking line when i was almost in the structure

i missed foreign hands and i am extra pissed lol. this band koyo is on now and i hate them

oh yeah btw within destruction (not the ruins) dropped their album this weekend

new track from The Undertaking!, for those of us with an ETID shaped hole in our recently played

edit: godfuckingdammit, I just realized the Plot In You / Silent Planet / AVOID / Cane Hill show is the same day as the Varials / Boundaries / Orthodox / Distinguisher show. How do I get them to shuffle lineups so I can see Plot, Varials, AVOID, and Orthodox without having to deal with the rest

once went to two shows in one day like 13 years ago or something. it was exhilarating. also feasible bc one was an early matinee and the other was at night. missed a few bands of the night show but was only there for the headliner

anyway go see varials

Counterparts is getting some totally deserved attention (Eulogy... loving rips) but I'm also pretty impressed with the new Lamb of God. This is the best they've sounded since the Ashes/Sacrament days. Randy actually sounds pissed again and there's a bit of hardcore edge throughout that's been missing for the last decade.

New poo poo from Make Them Suffer. First track with their new keyboardist, Alex Reade. When they announced her as a member a couple days ago, it lead me to check out her former band, Drown This City, which (from the couple of tracks I've heard) seem pretty sick as well

saw Whitechapel for the first time last night and they were incredibly tight

BTBAM performed for 50 minutes so it was of course only 5 songs, 3 of which were from Colors II so not much variety but mostly new live stuff which was cool! Never Seen // Future Shock is my favorite off the album and seeing it performed was neat

we missed Khemmis because of traffic though and i'm loving pissed about that

I saw that same exact set, except a decade later on the Colors 10-year reunion tour :v:

last night was my 9th time seeing them and it was weird seeing them as an opener, i think they've headlined every show i've seen them at since 2009 when they played with animals as leaders & veil of maya (e: nm they headlined that one) 2006 when they opened for Dragonforce

With the BTBAM chat, feels like as good a time as any to bring up Parius and their new album, The Signal Heard Throughout Space. It's not -core and it's barely got the death metal elements of their older releases like The Eldritch Realm (which is great), but it's a real fun listen if you're into prog

buddy of mine went to see varials and boundaries in NC over the weekend. i saw video and the new varials singer is the scrawniest little poo poo wearing nothing but a weird bulky bullet proof vest. what a bad gimmick lol.

i was gonna post some clips i just found on youtube but holy poo poo it's so cringe. go find it for yourself if you want a heaping does of secondhand embarrassment.

either way i'm still stoked to see them play here in LA in like two weeks. just gonna make sure to not look at the stage
