The Hollow is legit one of my favorite whatevercore albums I've ever listened to. I don't gently caress with a single other thing MMF has ever done, tho. Something on that first album is done so well and it all went to poo poo after that. It gives me heavy Gwen Stacy vibes, who put out the incredible A Dialogue

The Hollow is their 2nd album and 4th release but yeah everything after that is terrible, but this new stuff is jarringly different (but still awful).

They'll never top the first EP with the original singer, IMO.

But yeah Shooga check out the self-titled EP and Sleepwalking their first LP if you actually liked The Hollow.

The new album is pretty much exactly what I thought it would be from the singles and I really wish they wouldn't keep trying to single-handedly make nu-metal cool again. (I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy X (Mwah) though.)

It's got a few tracks that I can see myself listening to here and there (The Lotus, for example), but they're just moving in a direction that I don't particularly care for. But I've also never been the biggest fan. Really, I should just go through all their albums, cherry pick songs to add to a playlist, and pretend that's the only Hellions album

Opera Oblivia is one of my top 10 albums, and after a few listens Rue is pretty close to it for me. I’m not sure I can even articulate why I love the band so much, but everything they do just works extremely well for me. I’m not particularly fond of most of the different sounds they’re mashing together lately but somehow, for some reason, the end product is supremely my poo poo. Rue and The Lotus are both SOTY contenders for me.

I genuinely don’t get it. There are times that they sound like My Chemical Romance making love to 311 in an alley behind the circus, which should be completely loving unbearable, but somehow it ends up being this coherent, unique, and unbelievably catchy monstrosity that I can’t stop listening to.

New BMTH song that was almost a...........Limp Bizkit song.....and features Dani Filth.......

quote:

Over the weekend, fans were treated to a brand new song from Bring Me the Horizon called "Wonderful Life" that included a guest turn by Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth. However, according to singer Oli Sykes, the track almost ended up without either his band or Filth involved at all. At one point, the song was intended to go to Limp Bizkit.

Appearing on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter, Sykes revealed that the track evolved out of failed writing sessions for Limp Bizkit's next record.

"Last year, me and Jordan [Fish] went and worked with Fred Durst on a Limp Bizkit album. It just didn’t work out, to be honest. He just didn’t show up most of the time," recalled the vocalist. "Lovely guy, but I don’t think he was ready to make an album. I think he was pushed into it a bit, like, his managers and people said ‘These are the guys you want to work with.’ So we gave him all these ideas and I mean it was just bad from day one, to be honest."

Sykes stated that the origins of "Wonderful Life" came from those sessions, explaining, “It’s one of them things, looking back, where it wasn’t meant to be. One good thing came out of it: me and Jordan wrote this riff and I one day decided the tempo and key matched almost perfectly with the song. So we de-Bizkit‘d it a bit, and it ended up sounding pretty sick.”

While we continue to wait for a new Limp Bizkit album, Sykes, Fish and the rest of Bring Me the Horizon have powered through the writing and recording of their next release. The Amo album is set for a Jan. 11 street date.

I used to play in a beatdown hardcore band with the lead singer - suffice to say, Cabal has become a bit more of a priority for him these days, haha. I can definitely see them going places, even though I've grown a bit tired of that whole downtuned deathcore sound.
