More 90s-style metalcore with thick-rear end production. Definitely recommended if you're into Disembodied and... Sepultura? I get a Chaos A.D. vibe from the guitars and drums. For some reason the mix sounds different on the Youtube video though, on the album the vocals aren't so far out in front.

New All that remains album is floating around out there.

It's pretty good, phil's voice sounds excellent, instruments are spot on. Its not a return to "Fall of ideals" style though; it just sounds like "Overcome"'s song writing/structure paired with the sound of "Fall of ideals"

Thats really it. If your a fan of ATR, you'll love it (Like me) if your not, you wont.

Much better than Overcome. Better production and songwriting. Dead Wrong is probably the most heavy song they've ever written next to The Weak Willed. Although, I could do without the radio friendly tracks.

Sorry I know that I am late to this party but Wormwood is uninspired, boring, and bland 8-string riffage. Theres seriously nothing notable about any song on this album. Sorry. And I love TAS. Maybe its how they recorded this album, but gently caress, its all CHUGGACHUGGACUHUGGA *PINCH HARMONIC(!)* with often eye-rolling lyrics.

The only good album that I have heard recently that makes excellent use of an 8-string is Diamond Eyes.

The new ATR sounds good from what I've listened so far. Way better than Overcome for sure although that tape got kind of a bad rap. but those lyrics... "don't touch me again, cuz I don't want to feel your skin" or whatever the hell it is in that one song. :byodood:

Using it to show how bad the guitar tracks are on Wormwood. Obviously Deftones arent a metalcore band, but they recorded the guitar very well on that album.

That second Deftones link is a tame, boring nu-metal chuggachugga riff that could have been written on a 6-string.

The CD has leaked and it's a tried and tested "chaotic harcore" formula done by the band before. It's an excellent album but nothing new.

So After the Burial have released a single from their upcoming album, which you can find here:

http://www.metalsucks.net/2010/10/22/exclusive-after-the-burial-bread-crumbs-and-white-stones/

I'm finding that some parts are a bit repetitive, but 1:58 and on is pretty rockin'. The riff at 2:42 is definitely the highlight in my opinion. For the rest of the album I'm hoping for a little more variation and a few more sweep/shred parts. All things considered I'm highly anticipating this album!

Haven't posted in this thread in a while... I have come to appreciate Wormwood for what it is. A heavy, gloomy, dark, "gently caress you" album. I'm going to see Acacia Strain in Albany on Friday and I'm stoked. Gonna see them at the end of their tour in Poughkeepsie today. Should be awesome.

The venue on Friday is like 5 minutes from my parents house in the suburbs. Security guards there tend to suck. a lot. I got shoved to the ground for crowd surfing at GWAR last week. fun fact: it's where TAS and Emmure "fought"

Probably going to go to the Poughkeepsie show. The Red Chord is one of my favorite live bands and I've never seen Gaza. Never been to a show in Poughkeepsie, but I live on the other side of the mid-hudson bridge. I hope pile ons and stage dives are possible because I'm not much for dancing.

drat.. lovely security is very annoying because I do like to dance and I've been told that I'm kind of an obnoxious dancer. I'm catching a ride with some friends for tomorrow. We're coming from NYC. I barely ever leave the city so both shows will be an experience for me.

Man comeback kid were awesome.
PWD were okay.
Emmure are gay as poo poo and their singer is a fat poser.
We came as romans were surprisingly alright.
War from a harlots mouth are pretty hard to watch live because of the insane timings.
Bleeding through were okay.
Your demise are generic as gently caress and dulllll.

Also PWD didn't play leviathan i. The gently caress is that.

On a related and embarrassing note I heard one of their newer songs on the metal channel recently and it sounded moderately good :smith:

then again it didn't have the auto-tuned singing, and it wasn't a music video, so that's probably got something to do with it.
