I'm honestly considering her Brisbane show, except I have no one to go with. Like that other guy earlier, i'm a metalhead. I rationalise this by claiming that one of the most brutal things you can do is to like radically non-metal music.

But it's really grown on me and I think it's one of my favourite tracks of hers now. I particularly love the way the verse runs into the second chorus, it makes me draw a breath every time.

It reminds me of Motley Crue, and I'm sure that's not unintentional. The way she pronounces the first lines, "I can't believe what you said to me, last night we were alone" - especially the 'what you said to me' part - are very reminiscent of how Vince Niel sings in their ballad, Home Sweet Home (skip to 1:30 for actual song). gently caress, the entire song is similar, especially in the slower-paced version they do live. It's hard not to spot her hair metal roots in it.

I got out of the car at the petrol station this evening and was confused when my radio didn't stop after turning the ignition off. Turns out that the car next to me was also playing The Fame, at an almost identical point through the album, enough that I was confused by how in sync they were.

Life rocks so much.

Doesn't mean the songs themselves aren't old. The easiest way to pick the age of a song is by her voice - it's aged between Fame and Fame Monster, but with the layer of effects on these songs I can't even tell.

Nar, they've definitely pulled her right cheek towards her left one. She's got a tight arse but it's not at all really shaped like that. Look at how it flows into her thigh compared to the left one, which isn't a single RGB value for the entire cheek, and gradually flows down, rather than tucking back like a bubble butt.

Sockser posted:

I don't think you understand the deep symbolism of the video.

First off, Snoop Dogg represents the classic figure of the Pater Familiaris, exerting control over all in his kingdom, represented by the game board :snoop:

The first exploit of Katy Perry in the video is to free another scantily-clad girl from within a bubblegum bubble. Thus delivering her from a Freudian latency stage and into sexual maturity, though we see that Katy herself, through most of the video, is not sexually mature, and has a strong oral fixation.

In the next scene, Katy is scene climbing trees to escape from candy snakes, very obvious phallic symbols, which Katy rejects.

Katy rescues another girl, this time from a cube of gelatin, and from a plastic wrapping, again representing latency stages. Katy has served as a messenger of adulthood, while still playing the role of child herself.

The end of the video features Katy spraying whipped cream from her breasts. Katy has obviously reached sexual maturity and become pregnant, though not of her own choice. In theory, Snoop Dogg has exerted right of Jus Prima Noctis, the right of a Lord to take the virginity of any serf's daughter in his estate.

The final scene shows Snoop Dogg :snoop: and his army of gummi bears surrendering to Katy Perry and the other maidens, showing that, through acceptance of her sexuality, females truly own the world. At the videos very close, Snoop Dogg is buried up to his neck in sand. The monarchy has been overthrown by the true heirs to the throne, the female body.

What's Lady Gaga got? Gays are gay? Heh :smug:
