Wait, they cancelled the DVD line? Faggots!! What season did they stop on? (loving 6 jesus christ) This is a shameful end to a loving classic show and one of my alltime favorites. FOx will gently caress up anything they can get their hands on and then attempt to wash their hands of. TheRationalRedditor fucked around with this message at 03:58 on Aug 18, 2009 |

King of the Hill has always been really highbrow, it's not as though the lack of accessibility was a mystery. Anyone who likes the show enough to post in this thread is still flabbergasted it's gotten as many seasons as it has (it is literally a fox miracle).

Just search for actual clips of the show - basically nothing on there. "I'VE GOT GOUT!"

It's Jeff Goldblum, episode name "The Substitute Spanish Prisoner". One of the most hated by idiot goons who don't "get" KOTH, because Peggy gets a win (even after humiliating herself to rock bottom).

One? That's the cornerstone of her personality. Her rampant insecurity and quickness to assume credit and accolades are all a product of her overbearing mother who forever witheld her approval (quite similar to Cotton, actually).

It really is a shame how many people have slept on this show for over a decade. When the surface is penetrated it's extremely relatable and sympathetic to all kinds of demographics, and as many people observe, just try and name a single "bad" episode of KOTH. You can't because it's always kept a consistent quality to the degree of no other animated show for as long. The writing has stayed no less sharp than, say, "The Office" (moreso in my book). It's simply stifled by the medium gap it's caught within.

Lines or origins that begin as an early passing afterthought in television shows are eventually revisited as plot/story points and revised based upon certain factors. There's no mystery.

I really want to see the remaining four. That was a nice ending tacked on to an otherwise "bobby episode of the week", but it felt like it could've been shoehorned in when they found out fox was going to screw the production staff over again (both episodes were Bobby-centric which always feels unnatural). Boomhauer being a Texas Ranger is a hilarious (though improbable addition).

That information goes to my theory that the episode originally wasn't slated as any kind of finale but it got transformed into one with the news of the end.

The point isn't that there needs to be a definitive result for that character touchstone. Only a casual viewer would expect that. What is at stake is that in the last season, it would be addressed properly "one more time for the road" as the ultimate evolution of that plot string.

If I realized a year or so sooner just how much I had loved the show, I would've tried my hand at a script as well. Knowing the characters so well and having such an appreciation for them and their signature mannerisms is a drat fine base as long as you can get some solid skeletal scripts ideas in there too. livingfruitvirus did work on the goode family.
