Arx Fatalis is basically the modern successor to Ultima Underworld. It's a good game but it's not old enough be to considered "classic". Strife is a 3D FPS RPG hybrid based on the Doom engine. And of course Deus Ex... but everyone should've played that by now. All of these games are full action however, and most of them RPG lite.
