Loving Life Partner posted:Haha, Ellis vs Tussinwolf about the moon was awesome, especially when the dumb skateboarder actually beat the nerdy science fanboy back by suggesting we build settlements under the ocean because it'd be way cheaper. Right, check out the big brain on Rawdog: he mentioned the attractiveness of going to space because it would be fun to experience "anti-gravity." I'm not so sure Wing is the dumb one here...

I don't understand how both Tully and Rawdog can keep from calling Ellis a fag... it's almost as if he's asking for it at this point.

Dude is it gay - if I cry when my boyfriend brings me a birthday cake at work? I love Ellis. He's loving awesome. I do not know where to get audio of shows aside from Sirius/XM. I'm afraid that there may not be any legal sources, so I'll bet nobody is going to give you any answers here.

No show again today, according to Wing's tweet. Even worse - they seem to be broadcasting Moseley instead of an Ellis replay. This is not cool. EDIT: Thank god. 2nd clarification EDIT: Replay, but at least it's not Moseley. nub fucked around with this message at 20:28 on Oct 15, 2009 |

Rawdog losing to a 97 lb. pornstar is so perfect. Can't wait for today's show. Did any posters here attend Ellismania? I want behind the scenes stories! I'm definitely getting Taintstick's album as well. Is it wrong that I actually like the songs? "A6K" is hilarious, and "Monkeys of War" pumps me up. I guess I should type the title the way it's displayed: "Monkey's of War". So perfect.

He's definitely at the end of his rope. Sounds like on top of exhaustion and illness, he may have been spending too much time with the boys. Good thing for him he has a vacation beginning after tomorrow's show. I believe he said the next time he'll be back on the radio will be 9 November. By the way - isn't Good Charlotte touring in Australia? I thought that Wing mentioned something about Benji delaying his departure in order to make the Taintstick show Saturday. I also think that a few weeks ago Ellis mentioned canceling his Australia trip. I guess it's back on because he was going to miss his boyfriend too much. I pre-ordered Taintstick today - saw the free sticker: "TAINSTICK - METAL AS gently caress" and decided I needed it on my motorcycle helmet. Hey Atom - is the "Monkeys of War" video on ellismania.com? I'm leaning strongly towards giving the man my money, just need something to put me over the edge.

These "best of" shows have been great - hard to beat yesterday's "best of Rawdog", though. It came at the perfect time; I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the DVD, and laughed my rear end off at the Rawdog mystique. Love the CD. The clean version of "gently caress your face" is priceless. EDIT: I had to open my mouth; of course that annoying carnival, Jillian Barberie, was on when I finally got to sit and listen today. nub fucked around with this message at 23:59 on Nov 5, 2009 |

Tuesday... that sucks. One more second in the 3rd, and Mayhem would have had it.

This is a really good show, and Tully is an essential part of it. Surely someone at Sirius/XM realizes this. I can't see them not making him some kind of offer, since he has expressed a desire to stay on. It's time for Ellis' budget to get a little injection. Stern's gone next year (allegedly), and they need to be thinking about the future. The future being The Future.

Is that a contract for his salary, or do you think it follows the Stern model, in which money is allocated to Stern and then he disburses it? From what I heard yesterday, it seemed like the budget for next year isn't finalized yet. I guess we'll just have to hope. I don't think anyone wants Tully gone, so perhaps that's reason enough for hope.

"Aw poo poo! I need my voice altermacation!" This is hilarious, I love this perfect storm of Ellis unable to connect and Tully out. Could it possibly be a set-up?

Goddammit, not this oval office again. Oh well - I guess this is payback for the pure awesomeness of Mayhem Monday yesterday.

-Atom- posted:yesterdays show with Jillian and Oderus was loving fantastic. I completely understand calling an Oderus appearance fantastic, but are you really a fan of Jillian Barberie? She grates on my nerves. She speaks like a 14-year old. She's as spastic as a 14-year old. It's just not cute to me at all. I couldn't listen to all of that segment - how many times did she use the phrase "Marine sniper"? When she's on Stern and he takes calls, it seems like most of the calls are negative, but the calls I heard on Ellis were positive. I don't know if that's an audience difference, a screening process difference, or what.

Okay, at least she's open about things. That does count for a lot on these shows.

I feel bad for Ellis. He's clearly between a rock and a hard place, trying to juggle the family life with doing the show, split between two locations. I have loads of respect for his love for his family, and I hope this doesn't affect him too badly. That being said - jesus loving christ, Faction: your top loving priority should be this show. There's nothing else on this channel that comes close to this quality.

Did Ellis have to do the jump in a wacky outfit, like Rawdog was going to do? Also - what a boring fight that was, except for that bit in the 2nd. Anyone else a little surprised that Kimbo got the decision?

Ah, did not realize that. I thought those occasional kicks were scoring points for Alexander, so I would have given him a slim edge in 1 and 3. Thanks for the explanation.

-Atom- posted:Pendarvis mentioned that in the new year, Ellis will have a new producer, there will be replays and Ellis will have control to go long whenever he wants. I heard those things, but was there any mention of whether the budget would be expanded to keep Tully around? Ellis said something like "Wartcock is here to take on Rawdog's job, and Rawdog is doing Tully's job, and this is probably how the show is going to be for a while." Does that mean Tully is on vacation or is he gone-gone? I tuned in about half an hour after the show started yesterday.
