The Mountain Lion had a huge area and was able to follow us for a good while because she was centrally located. They also have an area they call the outback which they get to go to occasionally where they can just run around.

how long do you think i can leave esteban and black esteban alone for over Christmas? longest I did before was 3 days totally abandoned with lots of food and water bowls everywhere, and anything over that I had a friend who'd go hangout with them on their lunch break from work. right now i'm looking at leaving 12/23 and coming back 12/27 (sun-thur) and I'm a bit concerned. I don't have anyone to check in on them. should I post this on PI and see if I get banned for pet abuse?

have a robot litter box that fills up in about a week and we also bought a second top-entry litter box that would probably last 2-3 days with no cleaning.

Put down a third box just in case, just a $5 Walmart pan because better safe than sorry. Put down a bunch of food and if you're worried about them wolfing it and going hungry later, get one of those bowls that's timed to drop a few cups of food every 12 hours or whatever Leave a TV or radio on if you think they'll care, and they'll most likely be fine. Once I even positioned my laptop in a way that I could remote login from my phone and see the main room on the webcam but I didn't end up doing it

pretty sure cats don't live just on food and a place to poo poo alone. i think it's scientifically proven that cats need laptime to live full, healthy lives.

plans for abandoning the cats in our apartment for 4 days: build cat fort out of fleece blankets. just...tons of food everywhere. and water bowls. maybe a $3 turkey pan full of litter. tv on. secondary cat outpost on couch with fleece blankets. should be okay for ~96 hours.

We sent some a few weeks back, the same pictures that I posted here of her cuddling with the dog  but thanks for the reminder, I will definitely send in moreThe shelter people really seemed to love this gal, maybe I will bring her by to visit them
