My Spirit Otter posted:jesus, if they didnt set up dust containment, i hope they were at least cheap. oh they set up dust containment. they taped a sheet across the bathroom door. it covers almost half the doorway! only open 2 feet at the bottom and 1 foot at the top.  also i don't think it's dust per se -- i think it's dried paint particles from the bathtub glazing spray they are using. drift out of the bathroom, harden in the air, and precipitate like nuclear fallout. i tried to sweep it up so that penny wouldn't get it on her paws and lick it off, but it doesn't sweep. i think it will have to be mopped. not my choice of contractor, ask the landlord. they are at least doing it properly, it seems, sanding the tile and chemically prepping it and stuff. the only reason it has to be done is the people who "renovated" the place before i moved in didn't reglaze the bathroom properly and everything started peeling off within a couple of months. false economy and all that but i would expect no less from a landlord. ggggg

Knutsel has a whole new bunch of toys, including a small tunnel: Relationships between Nelis and Knutsel were a bit sketchy for a while, where Nelis would growl and hiss if Knutsel came close. But I think that was because Nelis was not feeling well, and now he's feeling better. Together with a whole new influx of toys to occupy Knutsel's energy things have improved. Sometimes Nelis still hisses, but that's just boundary setting. They play again sometimes, and we even had a brief moment of sharing the Coaster Toaster:  A short moment, but they managed to take turns peacefully on the Toaster afterwards.

some sad news. Suzie Q is old. he's 19 and has kidney failure, and it's been a slow decline, but he's lost a ton of weight and is barely eating anything now. he's not acting like himself any more, and i think the misery is setting in. i don't think he's going to make it to Christmas laying in front of the fireplace
