I was told I should post Aphra here she was until today a stray catte living on the streets of Boston. v skinny. now she is chilling in an air conditioned room getting all of the love. thanks 2 forums goon street doc for bringing this baby's plight to my attention. she is currently laying in my lap purring and headbutting my hand so I will pet her instead of typing.

Jezebel  You gave her a good life full of love and adventure, and a painless death surrounded by her family. We should all be so fortunate. I miss my ex's cat Steve more than I miss my ex. She told me he loved me like nobody else except her. I was his dude. That stinky, diabetic little weirdo was missing half his teefies and gave me smelly love bites on my nose and always came up to say hi when I walked in the door. The best thing about Steve was that after he ate, he'd walk around the house talking up a storm, like he had to tell everyone how delicious his dinner was. cats are weird and I love them

Aphra update: spayed, shots given, FIV/FeLV negative, has not stopped purring since we got home and her voice seems to be coming back she meowed at me THREE TIMES it was real quiet and scratchy but it's something

I free feed dry with a gravity feeder and give her a third-ish of a can of wet food for breakfast, and she just nibbles on the dry food when she's hungry during the day. So far no sign of food scarcity/overeating type behaviors like you see in strays sometimes. Filtered gravity water dish thing too, it's great.

This is Soot: She is my mom's cat, born to a feral barn kitter in 2006. She's 13 and still plays like a kitten. also v smol and floofy.If you pick her up she will yell in protest but also purr because she loves you

The idea is to avoid contributing to the stray cat problem because they wreak havoc on local fauna, but there's no good solution as long as we live in a society bottom text where a significant number of people treat pets as disposable possessions they can just toss out on the loving streets when they're no longer convenient to care for. poo poo makes me mad.  somebody abandoned this floofy little baby
