Today one of my family-in-law's cats died. Harold Potter was one of three (Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger being the other two can you tell what was just getting popular when my partner was a kid) and the biggest of a rescued bunch of siblings. He was 20.5 pounds for most of his life, a small bobcat. Harry went to the hospital with heart failure about 2 months back and they basically said he was in no pain but could be expected to lose weight and eventually just give up the ghost. He did so this morning. He went chasing bugs outside yesterday because the weather is finally nice in Chicago, after playing the "Is it summer yet?" game at the porch door for way too long this winter. came in afterwards and curled up on a bed upstairs, was found this morning in the same spot, tail still wrapped around his nose with no pulse. FIL wrapped him up in a blanket, put him downstairs on the big chair he loved for a bit, and took him to the vet to be cremated. They came back with his ashes and found his brother Ronald crouched in the chair sniffing around and crying, very confused  RIP Harry. You were a titan of a cat and your belly was always a trap.  edit sorry tos tart a new page with bad news gently caress me
