cat was pretty sick yesterday, still finding places on the carpets where she dribbled barf. maybe she's having a bad reaction to the shot she got on saturday?? the shot was an allergy thing because she's been pulling the fur out of her back. really hope this isn't the beginning of something serious

my dog boyfriend!!! posted:all y'all catadopters, whats the best way to make a new cat comfortable in your house when it's all scared and poo poo? we have a bonus room that doesnt have much in it except what i brought home from school, but once i clean that poo poo up it'd make a pretty nice open space. my idea is for that to be kind of the cat's own space, with the door closed, so s/he feels safe i guess while adjusting, and then maybe once they're comfortable they can join the rest of the house? thats actually the recommended strategy. put a little food, some water and a poop box in there and let them decompress alone for a couple hours. if you have other critters you will want to keep the new cat in the room away from them for a while (2-3 days) so it can get used to the smells and sound of the other animals

Fritz was in her window all worked up about something this morning. usually it's a bird or one of the neighbors walking their dog. then i hear a something big hit the window. who the hell is this rear end in a top hat?  bitch tore a hole in my screen trying to get at Fritz.  every so often one of them would call at the other but this was the state of things until the gray one got bored and walked off to gently caress up someone elses windows.

i had a littermaid for a while and it was ok. it uses plastic containers to seal the poop and you toss them when they get full. stopped using it because it was pretty noisy and Fritz would overwhelm the rake that sweeps the litter. she would take a massive super-piss that was too heavy for the rake to move, making it repeatedly go back and forth until it could be dislodged. this would happen twice a week at about three in the morning. thats my cat robo-shitter story, thanks for reading.

my sister is moving cross country for california to new york. her cat, Louie, is staying with my folks until she and her husband get settled. my parents are very paranoid about having him in the house so they set up a tent as a place for him to relax and decompress after all the time in a pet carrier. why they did this instead of letting him out in the guest room i have no idea. airport pickup  the tent  louie always looks grumpy

fritz usually barfs a couple times a month unless she's real pissed off or had a vet visit. i got a spotbot and it's pretty great at cleaning the stuff you can't see.

Frtiz has been enjoying the holiday early this year. she got some craft paper from my computer parts last week.   and a couple nice big paper bags from my final shopping run.   it's going to break her heart when i put all that in the recycling.
