Met some cattes at the shelter yesterday. April was super sweet and loved to get petted all over, but she refused to come even the slightest bit out of her cubbyhole so I dunno. Gonna go see her again soon I hope.  This is Godzilla who is the meanest god drat cat. The entire time I think he was plotting on how to murder people. When we opened the door to the cat room he immediately tried to escape. He is the Esteban of this shelter.  And this is Ms Morris who was pretty chill but didn't really want to play or anything. When I see her again I hope she'll be a little more social.

Gonna get a catte tomorrow. Fingers crossed that introducing it to my beagle goes smoothly. She has been good with cattes in the past so I'm not too worried but you never know

Took Olive to the vet for the first time today, she checked out fine. Met a couple on the way out that were there to put down their 15 year old cat.

Olive and Macy update They've been getting along really well together. Olive has started to chase Macy around the house and ambush her whenever she can.  They both sit up by this window and wait for me to come home when I'm gone from the house.  She does this to me all the god damned time  We got her a harness today and took her out into the big world, she's curious about everything but seems pretty alright so far  Olive loves to sleep on Macy   Also built her a small fort

If we leave the house for any length of time longer than an hour or so we're almost guaranteed to come back to a pee spot or something from her worrying so much. Putting her in her kennel helps. Thinking about asking the vet next time I see him, or sooner, but for now it's been okay. I think she's been less stressed when we leave now that the cat is around.

Macy has issues with peeing in the house too. Part of me feels like she just has a super tiny bladder or something? But sometimes we'll put her in her kennel when we leave and she won't pee in there so I don't really know. I dunno she needs to go out every couple of hours and at night when we're sleeping she'll just go and pee on the rug in the other room. My basic morning routine is to wake up, pee, clean up dog pee and sometimes dog poop. She knows it's wrong too, she'll go and hide under the bed when I find it because she knows that she'll get a smack on the nose for it. She also gets really upset when we leave or when we're separated by a fence or whatever. Need to remember to ask the vet about it at her next checkup.

Glad Elena is getting better. She looks like a good catte. Macy got sprayed by a skunk last night in the yard at 3:30. Ran to walmart but they didn't have anything to help so we had to put her in the laundry room until morning. She puked three times last night and we had to bathe her 5 times today but she's finally smelling okay. Not perfect but I think it might be as good as it gets. Exhausted since I only slept from 6-8.

Olive has taken up a new hobby of dragging toilet paper everywhere and destroying the rolls. It was funny the first couple of times but we've had to start closing the bathroom door. Also she drinks toilet water when she can. Never had a dog do that but my first cat does. They've started playing a bunch though, and Macy is noticeably less distressed when we leave the house. Accidents have become slightly uncommon, rather than a guarantee.
