Today my friend asked me to come identify some kittens. Yep definitely kittens. The boys:    Gandalf the Grey, Chubby Ginger and Stripey Ginger. The girls:   Grumpy pale ginger and Eyepatch kitten. They're 4 weeks old and learning how to climb so I spent most of the afternoon getting covered in tiny scratches.

I finally managed to get a picture of Abby where she is more than just a shadow with eyes. Please note she was being brushed at the time so is just being held, not strangled. Of course Fatty got jealous and came up to demand attention as well.  I'll be visiting my friend and the kittens tomorrow so will charge up the camera tonight.

Kittens incoming, they were very active today so pictures may be a tad blurry. "Oh, you again. Go ahead, keep them amused, I'm going out." Pale Ginger status: still grumpy. Good news! My friend is going on holiday so from Tuesday I get to take care of two litters of kittens (6 weeks and 3 weeks old). I don't have any pictures of the younger litter yet, they're only just venturing out of their nest box but I should get a few next week. Grey kitten was the only one out and about while I was visiting today.

Yeah the mum is a tortie so it's most likely a somatic mutation, she has a few other tiny black spots on her legs. Honestly, if my boyfriend and I were in the position to adopt then those kittens would be coming home with us as soon as they're old enough.

There's a documentary about cats on tonight and Fatty seems to be enjoying it immensely.  She doesn't usually watch people TV, except for that one time she watched the Life of Birds and jumped face first into the telly.

I was clearing out our old family computer today and came across some old photos of Abby and Fattys mum. This is Bailey: as she was pregnant when we got Dylan she adopted him as her baby as well.   She then gave birth to a single kitten, Abby.   When she went into heat six months later my parents decided to let her have a second litter, this resulted in Fatty and her brothers.   Fattys brothers were adopted really quickly but no one wanted Fatty so she stayed with her mum and sister, here they are as one happy family cat pile on the kitchen counter.  Bailey isn't with us anymore but she was one of the sweetest most loving cats I've ever had. Just ask her son.

Abby has decided to forego cat tv this week and instead has been setting up camp on the side of the bath to watch people shower. She will perch herself on the edge, stare at you as you wash and meow constantly.
