I think it will take some time, but she's a cat person, and wants an older cat. the meeting went well. She saw his sweet side and his spicy side (he got a claw caught in my sock and then when I tried to unstick him he was freaking out a bit and got me good with the claw) and was understanding about him

I'm going to make an appointment with his vet for a general check-up. Once he has that, my friend down south who's a veterinarian is going to have a regimen for him of a couple of different sedatives that he will be on for up to a month to make his transition calmer since we don't want to get him stressed enough to have his bladder crystals make a comeback.

Rokit's first checkup in years and years results: Doing great actually. He'll need dental work in a couple years, which I'm going to talk to his new Mom about. Updated his vaccines, got his nails trimmed, apparently just wanted to run around the back room the entire time. He's getting a prescription of gabapenthen and trazadone combo to be getting daily for around a month to ease his transition, along with feliway defusers. It was the easiest vet visit he's ever had. Luckily he didn't complain about the gabapenthen added to his food (it's bitter and some cats won't touch it) so that's a great sign for his future medication. Once his new prescription comes in I'm going to start him on it asap. I'm going to talk to his mom about making the transfer next week.

it takes time but these feeling will subside. you gave Faith incredible love and warmth. and cats, unfortunately, get old just like we do. I still feel the same way you do about my Lulu. but I also know that she was happy and safe till her last moments. remember the love they had for you.

yeah i remember that one Esteban and Black Esteban were great thread cats edit: last day for this   I’ve run into a problem. the drugs for Rokit that he’s supposed to be on for a month came in capsule form and i was told to put it on his food. he is NOT touching it. so i have to have another prescription called in for it to be compounded in a flavored suspension. this should be ok but that won’t get to his new mom until sometime next week. so in the meantime I’m going to have to mix a capsule’s worth of the meds with 1ml of water and then use a oral syringe (no needle) to inject it into the back of his mouth.
