 get well dexter! i know what the empty home feels like since i had to take shadow to the emergency vet when he was having trouble peeing and they wanted him to stay overnight. and it sucks. :(

The same guy who gave me Gibbs last year decided that even two cats was too much for him, so he gave me Sarah. Apparently Gibbs and her are about the same age (He claims they're from the same litter, but I cannot see that at all).
cat litters can have multiple fathers, so it's entirely possible they're only half related. there's also just the chance that different genes expressed in each catte leading to two very different looking cattes. my roommate in college had a big shorthair tabby without a tail whose mother was a longhair solid color with a tail. catte genetics are weird, man

 my catte doesn't really audibly purr (he purrs, but it can only really be heard in his breathing or if you put your ear right on his belly), so i always forget what purring is like until i meet someone else's catte.
