Shifty Pony posted:drat right. I think I posted my kitty here once before. Her name is MacGyver. Eleven years ago she broke out of her cage while my then-future-husband and I watched. When we told the pet store employees about it (yes I know, shame) they groaned and said 'not again'. She was in our apartment less than three hours later after getting the okay from our other roommate. We were told she was a he at the store; the vet asked us when we were getting her spayed. She doesn't like human food. She just likes to sit on the boxes it comes in. I thought the hair-trap in the shower had gained sentience. This is her cat trough. She sits like this in it all the time when conscious, like a good goon. But I love her, and she loves chin-scritches. Thank you for looking at my kitty. Thank you for letting me look at all your awesome kitties because they are amazing.

Pilli posted:I remember McGyver because how can you forget such a name and such a regal cat I love my shower curtain, I can't share, sorry Regal Mac, outside. She doesn't like the outside much anymore where we are. The cars scare her to death, but back when I lived in Canada she had a backyard she would reluctantly check out on occasion. Super lovely old webcam taken not long after we had moved out of our apartment into a house with other equally dumb students. No Mac, you have self-esteem issues, you aren't trash SynthOrange posted:Floof levels, critical! They were not always critical. She got so matted at one point - due to her insane lust for rolling around in wet bathtubs and her insane hatred of being brushed - I had to have her shaved. She was velvety. Also not happy about it, but she got over it. Husband: YOU. ARE. A. KITTY. Mac: Thanks. You know, because I forgot.

FrozenVent posted:yeah but is mac a kitty kitty? that's the question When I greet her from work every night, I call her my itty bitty pretty lovely kitty. Then I pick her up and snorgle her and she meows and I put her down and she runs away while I yell after her, "WHO'S MY KITTY KITTY?!" to which she meows loudly because when I come home = treat time. So I believe the answer is yes, Mac is a kitty kitty. my neighbours downstairs think I'm insane

Just took MacGyver to the vet. so dejected - why are you doing this to me god damnit because you are 19.9 pounds and you should be closer to 14 that's why This cat: - screamed so loud when they took her in the back for bloodwork that she freaked out the dogs in the waiting room - had to leave her behind to calm down - pissed all over the exam table Otherwise she's a healthy rear end in a top hat. Now it's time to find a second cat.

Just came back from adopting dis guy. He needs to have his teeth cleaned so I haven't brought him home yet, but once that's done he'll be moving in. His name is Cheeto but I am not a fan, give me better names please? elevator butt My other cat is gonna be pissed. I'm already getting stink-eye and non-stop meow-yelling from MacGyver.

Echeveria posted:Make sure you do a proper cat introduction phase! You'll have much better chance of success if you do it properly. Definitely - also I'm already ordering the Feliway diffuser. Mac's been with other cats in the past and she handled it well, but that was a few years ago and she's older and grumpier now.

But now he's gone to hide under the bed and has been there for hours. I'm sure he'll eventually come out, but drat I wanna pet him and tell him everything is okay now, you're home for good. Bonus: Mac hating the fact she has competition now.

Trast posted:Also it is really cool that you adopted him knowing about the murmur. A lot of people wouldn't. Luckily a thing like that can not even be an issue for a long time and then it can be treated. The rescue I got him from also works to adopt out FIV+ kitties, which is pretty baller. I'm not worried about the murmur much really; he's so shy that it's probably made worse by all the stress he's been through. He'll get to the vet soon and we'll have him re-evaluated.

him name now Graham, no longer is he Cheeto he's been hiding under the bed the past few days since we brought him home, he is a very shy cat buuuuuut he likes to rest his head on my hand while getting scritches then he came out after just a couple minutes of under-bed pets and wanted more attention ah poo poo is this a trap? not even slightly, he was making air-biscuits he was so happy also carpet biscuits he is awesome.

graham just got some wet food and does not know what the gently caress pulled it out of the bowl with his paw and smacked it around a little you really expect me to eat that? he would rather lick his own butthole god drat you graham it's blue buffalo grain-free duck and potato you philistine cats

Three weeks ago I brought Graham home from the rescue, and I was really worried he'd never actually settle in and would just live under the bed unhappily. I worried he'd never get along with my other fluffbutt, Mac. welp here's his new favourite spot - right by my computer chair all mac does when she sees him is hiss and walk away; about twenty minutes ago they were less than five feet apart and having treats raining down on their heads

peace in our time Mac isn't thrilled with this, but Graham clearly wants to be her new friend. Not a single hiss or raised paw.

I'm going to miss her using my back as a pillow when I sleep & running the bathroom faucet for her b/c it was her favorite way to drink. She was a spitfire who became affectionate in her old age & loved gentle pets on the head, like a mother cat gives to a kitten. RIP. You are the most amazing cat butler and I'm so sorry. Tildy was beautiful.
