I'm a flash animator in the year of our lord 2024. I'll never ever let flash die; they'll have to pry my copy of cs3 out of my cold dead hands. Here's some little bits I've made on my website: https://nocaps.leprd.space/toons.htm Not exactly walt disney but I just make things move and sometimes it looks good. I also have a sheezy art page - that I update a lot more often than my website because I forget: https://sheezy.art/nocaps

I wanted to make some Rabbit & Steel / FFXIV style mechanics animations for my D&D game and I've made progress! https://i.imgur.com/tLUaICD.mp4 Challenges I figured out: - Looping texture. - How to render transparency so the outputted video/gif can be used as an overlay in FoundryVTT. - Colour Mixing Works Differently Here you Unreal Pilled Bastard.(tm) (Can't just use the Multiply node, has to be the Color Mix Node SET to Multiply!) - How to apply the colour ramp gradient effect to have the animation "fade out" in the distance. What I am still figuring out: - How to have transparency and colour. I.e I'd like the black pixels to range from fully to partially transparent.

Working on another one, a bit longer. Planning to actually clean up the lines and colour this one. This is on fours and its still 50 frames, far out! I need to be a bit more economical.

This year for Halloween, I made a stop motion animation! Last time I tried this was 20 years ago. It's very short and rough around the edges, but I mostly accomplished what I was going for. Happy Halloween! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNHwSHQqvIw

I have a question for any blenderheads. I'm working on a scene in a 3d workspace using PNGs of paintings to create some depth. They're set to shadeless, I want to be able to control the color without putting in a light but I can't seem to find a way to adjust one of these layers' color curves in the way I could in after effects. I've been able to do it in the compositing window with shots that aren't doing anything with a moving camera, but I can't figure it out when the images are 3d layers. Would working in the 2D specific space make this easier in a way I'm not seeing? Image attached with a confused node setup.

I'm just a Blender dabbler, but I would use Eevee and set up the png planes like this for something like this. If there's going to be no light in the scene at all, you can also just plug the Texture color into the Principles BSDF shader's emission. You might also have to change the blend modes in the material settings for the alpha - I have the "import images as planes" plugin active that might be doing that stuff automatically.

Thank you! That's working out for me, I deleted the image plane's box somehow.

I'm trying to find instances of this, but does anyone know of some good shots in anime where there's a group of intimidating/menacing people/monsters/whatever, and they're all laughing among themselves as some character enters a bar or a monster den or something. Kind of this vibe: ![]() but usually they're in some sort of dark space. I'm looking for some reference material for an animation. Appreciate it if anyone knows a couple of the top off their head!

I was thinking the first episode of Berserk but because it's Berserk they didn't actually have an animation budget and it's just a pan over still poses with voice over... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpkAjd3mjlE&t=247s But with a laugh it's mostly about the shoulders and the jaw, so just a held pose where those two parts of the body move with maybe a traceback over the rest of the drawing so the lines don't look dead. They do a laugh on this guy here where it's just a traceback with a little bit of adjustment on the corners of his mouth and bottom of his eyelids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpkAjd3mjlE&t=390s
