I actually think a legitimate novel from Onstad could be better than Achewood ever has been. Maybe not, but the best stuff I've seen from him recently have been the in character updates on the fanflow. Which reminds me, for anyone who hasn't checked out any of the free in character blogs, they're loving awesome, though I don't think any of them have been updated since around 2008.

He has mentioned book and animation development being in the works (only mentioned as an excuse for the lack of updates) but that was a while ago so who knows how long until, or even if those projects will see the light of day.

Yeah, I think he has the ability to mimic prose styles incredibly well. He could easily do a really good genre book. One thing I'd like to see is a Nate Small 'One tough man' book written in the noir style, or maybe more like John D. Macdonald.

You guys care to give some examples? And don't say the one where he offers to blow Ray because that was not a hint of possible sexual identity issues, that was just being completely annoyed with Ray.

Circus Penis sends him to a gay porno shoot. Huggins tries to do maximum cuddles with him and he 'catches on slow.' He has a dream where people assume he's gay because he's a designer.

This was a good arc. I liked the alt text implication that whenever Circus Penis or anyone else in the business sends a straight guy into a gay shoot to gently caress with his head, poor Huggins somehow always ends up being the actor present. (Rod does not have a good job.)

Though it also seems like he's not too choosey about his jobs. He shot a one-man porno film with Ray and Teodor.

Yeah, pretty much. Onstad wrote a sidebar in one of the books explaining that squirrels are basically always tweaking, all the time.

Look, I know you don't mean to slur Ricky Nihoha, but saying that is lot like eating the entire bowl of bean salad at a van meeting three times running. He's going to have to raise his fists.

Words about Achewood. It's from January but I don't remember seeing it before.

I think this would actually be a good article to introduce people to Achewood with. I haven't been able to catch some people on it because I don't know how to ease them in.

Probably not the article that compares it to one of the most polarizing comics on the internet.

I think most people who know what homestuck is would already know what achewood is. For example I've never read homestuck--I don't even know what it is other than a webcomic. Anybody I was introducing Achewood to would be similarly ignorant of internet opinion.

And anyway, it's one sentence. Otherwise the article has a good selection of comics, explains the premise and the basic relationship of the main characters.
