Completely clean CarFax but it had new welds in several places under the hood and the hood was repainted. If they got random mechanic #4209 to repair it and he didn't report it, it won't show up. I know VW-dealers will report all maintenace to carfax. It's when someone gets in an accident and doesn't report it to the insurance and just pays some random mechanic to fix the problem is when it doesn't get reported.
