Awesome shots. The sponsor ad on the last picture is exquisite.

I was so hoping it was a Mk. 2 TT owner.

After glancing at the top 2 pictures, I thought the driver side stand had embedded itself into the weird-looking undercoating.

I've left divots in hot asphalt from stopping while rollerblading; I'm sure a car on jack stands wouldn't take much to push into it.

Blocko posted:Raceish? Aren't the Hawk Blue considered "Track Only" pads? you think that'd be warning enough. I'd consider that to mean that they're very abrasive to rotors and that you can't get them up to temp on the street, not that the compound will destroy your wheels. I have unfortunately heard about the Hawk Blues' danger to wheels in the wet. Ferodo DS3000 have that reputation as well. Carbotech's track pads are decently rotor-friendly and the dust comes off pretty easily, for what it's worth.

Idiot race posted:What about ferodo DS2500? The dust seems to wash off pretty easily from my 1 piece advans. But i've got a set of ssr professors as my summer wheels with a polished lip, I realy dont want them looking like eintiers wheels although i'll probably polish them when I finally get someone to make me some drat hubrings. From what I've read, the DS3000 is more concerning. I actually used a set of DS2500s before switching to Carbotechs, and my wheels ended up fine.

einTier posted:Pagid Yellows (also race pads, but none of the issues of the Hawk Blues), so that sort of makes up for the Hawk Blues I'll never use again. I've used their RS-14 Black pads on the RS 4, and its wheels are fine. I think the Pagids will be safe. Carbotech's XP-10 and Enduro compounds also have easily removable dust.

The B7 RS 4 loses ~1 hp per 1000 miles traveled due to carbon buildup. My car has 38K miles, and has never been de-carboned.

einTier posted:Oh. I did. They gave me the bad news today. Basically the entire right side of the engine is toast. Something happened at the VVT switchover at 3500 rpm. The specialist says it's not really anything that I did or could have prevented, it "just happened". Wow, that's a shame. Good luck and bottoms up.
