The bigger issue is this is going to keep happening. They invested a ton of money in new trains but oops they weigh more than the old ones and keep loving the track up.

Weird. Toronto had the opposite problem: the newer trains were too light to get traction on a couple of the uphill sections, so Bombardier had to add weight over the motors.

Needed to pump up my tires on the motorbike while at my mom's place, so I grabbed the one the garage with the fancy digital pressure gauge.

Motor came on, gauge worked, light worked, no air coming out. She found the spare one with the wildly inaccurate pressure gauge and that was fine. She was going to throw out the broken one but I wanted to take it apart to see if it was fixable.

Open it up, and immediate problem was that the conrod for the piston fell off the crank pin. Put that back on and rotated the crank by finger a few times and I could see that it was unseating itself from the crank pin after a couple of cycles, so it would likely have come off if I'd actually plugged it in.

Took the piston out to have a look, and half the metal from the conrod where it mates to the crank pin was gone.

I used to work in a parking garage. People had the hardest time trying to drive normal sized cars and compacts up to the booth to pay, and meanwhile one of the older ladies who lived there had this giant 60s Cadillac that she could maneuver around all day with no problems.

Funniest thing I had happen on shift was some shitbag told his limo driver to park the car in the lot, and it got beached on the sharp downward sloping entrance ramp. We had like 4 guys bouncing on the hood to try to get the tires to contact the pavement so he could back up lol. FWD FTW.

Braindead is an amazing movie. Early Peter Jackson poo poo is weird, to the point of insanity, and it makes it even more ridiculous that a major studio said to him "Yes, Peter, you can take this two hundred million dollars into the New Zealand hinterlands and film back-to-back-to-back three films making up one of the most beloved book series' ever".
TBH at that point he'd done The Frighteners and Heavenly Creatures.
