My Fnatic Dash XD mousepad is due for a replacement, it's been out of stock forever though. I managed to snag one on Amazon a few weeks ago, and they sent me a disgusting one that was clearly somebody that had committed return fraud. Is there a similar replacement that is easier to get? I really like the giant 37.4"x19.7" size

It's not quite as big, but check out the Gamegenic Prime Playmat XL. It's actually a TCG playmat but it's basically an 800x350x2mm fabric-top mousepad. I use their 610x350mm version and I love it. They're really inexpensive too, so if you don't 100% gel with it it's not like you're going to be out an annoying amount of money.

I didn't expect to miss the second horizontal scroll wheel this much going from MX3 to Logitech Lift. I got used to vertical shape super fast, but I still swear internally trying to scroll horizontally the few times a day I need it.

A pretty good video on what matters when picking out a new gaming mouse:

Maybe I'm old now but the only thing I'd really take away from that video is that all the sensors are good and you should just go for something that's comfy, well-built and looks nice on your desk, unless you're a literal professional gamer, which you're not. All those tiny mice look terrible from an ergonomic perspective and unless you're in the very top percentile in a specific subset of shooters you're not going to be held back in game by something a bit more friendly to your hand.

sidenote I'm really digging this keychron M7, although their customer service was terrible, the mouse did arrive eventually after a bit of email hassle.

Yup, exactly. Which is pretty much what some of the posters in this thread have been consistently saying, too.

I did find the 60% of your middle finger (or was it hand?) length as an interesting fitment tip. Seems like it would be a good way to find a mouse that isn’t too short to hold still easily and also isn’t too long to be uncomfortable.

Ditto for the three finger width measurement.

But, yeah, shape and size is king.

Naw this is pretty much accurate. Buy the thing you like the shape/feel of.

There is some argument for casuals picking up a smaller/gamery mouse for FPS games to use for gaming only. But its pretty much only gains for people who want the gains.

Logitech's g203 is my new favorite mouse after something like a 20 year progression from an mx510 -> mx518 -> g400. I used to love the shape of those mice but tbh I've realized the smaller size of the g203 is more comfortable for me and I prefer the fingertip grip over whatever I was doing before.

@EbolaIvory you’ll get a kick out of this. My pwnage StormBreaker eventually started acting real screwy shortly after the warranty ended. Just straight up not responding to input. It took a couple months of troubleshooting with support and then sending it in to get it fixed, and, well, I will soon have a one of a kind StormBreaker. Lol

Good news, we’ve gone ahead and upgraded your kit to the 8kHz version, effectively turning your mouse into the first and only Red StormBreaker V2! 😊

As for the cost: while we previously mentioned $42 for the main PCB upgrade, we’d like to offer it to you at a discounted rate of $35 as a goodwill gesture. Shipping and return label costs should be around $10–12 (depends on what Shopify's estimation come up with).

Their support is rear end, like you said, but I love the look of the mouse and it feels great to use so I’m looking forward to getting it back. I should be able to use the web app for settings and firmware updates with the v2 pcb instead of having to boot into a Windows VM to use the app (I’m on Linux) like the v1 it previously had.

If you end up giving up and shopping for a new one. Sword X from WLmouse is basically that same mouse.

Sadly your story don't shock me. They're absolute choads and I hope they go bankrupt.

Stultior stulto fuisti, qui tabellis crederes! - Idiot of idiots, to trust what is written!
So I recently treated myself with the Keychron M5 mouse after seeing that there is finally a mouse big enough for my hands.
And it's been interesting....

Pros:
- Very cheap for an ergo mouse (rounded out to 68€)
- Highly customizable
- Big and comfortable enough for my enormous hands
- Good enough for low level competitive gaming

Cons:
- A bit heavy on the side (though that's fine for a mouse this size)
- DPI buttons placement is one of the worst for something that i need to change regularly
- browser-only button customization (and limited to chrome/Edge)
- The side scroll button is on the high end and not clickable as well, though it is wide.

It's been only a month thus far but honestly for that price it's a steal, but I'm eager to see an improved version.

They seem to be revising their mice. The M7 I got is a 'new' version for 2025, which goes up to an 8k DPI - which isn't a meaningful upgrade - but also has a much better battery, sturdier build quality and materials, and seems to fix many of the complaints people had about the original. I was originally eyeing up the M5 (if that's the one shaped like an MX master) though!

M5 is the vertical mouse, M6 is the master-like.
