Anyone know of any good gaming quality mice that are SILENT? I'm finding a bunch of cheap "silent" branded mice but they all equally suck.

....

What do you mean by "silent"?

Doesn't make any noise when clicking.

Uh. Have you tried a touch screen?

I don't think there are any silent gaming mice. You can try Nexus mice (use a mouse pad, apparently), but they have poor quality control and build quality. From the comments I skimmed and a couple of video reviews, these things go bad very quickly, so eh. Also, their scroll wheels aren't as quiet as their clicks.

Or you can get even more off brand stuff like the Kinobo Blue Silent which will run you $15 and have good reviews from Amazon and a single youtube review.

If you are looking for actual silent mouses and not just very quiet, you can try the Manhattan Stealth Touch Mouse. It is all touch. No mouse buttons at all. Other than that, it seems to have significant lag and stuff.

Genius has created several wired "float to click" mice. I don't have any information on their reliability or build quality.

Yeah. Kinobo has a 1200 DPI and the Genius "Float to Click" mice have 1600 DPI. Both wired. They may be adequate for gaming. There doesn't seem to be any quality silent mice let alone gaming variants.

A second option would be to use your smartphone or tablet as a mouse. If silence is absolutely required, you can find a couple of apps that will turn your portable devices into input devices.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can mod a mouse so that it is more quiet.

The vast majority do, but the best sensors don't. Unfortunately, this isn't readily available information depsite the fact it's what should be on the box instead of 2 MILLION DPI-READY bullshit.

If you like the G500, just cash in one Logitech's amazing no-questions-asked/free shipping warranty, you can get another with little trouble. If you do want a new one regardles, the G600 is an improved version of the G500, supposedly.

Corded mice aren't going to be abandoned as long as wireless are strictly inferior for polling precision and gaming. It seems like manufacturers can't figure out how to bridge that USB signal limitation and keep it cost-effective for themselves.

Logitech is selling the G500s from their website, so that may be the better option if he is buying new.

Maybe the SteelSeries Sensei [Raw] would suffice if he wants another company.

So, uh, don't buy the Mamba 2012 unless you want your mouse to sound like a real life mouse.

So do buy a Mamba 2012?

One man's quest for a decent loving mouse. Maybe one of our resident mouse gurus can recommend a durable mouse from a company with a reputation for reliability (in their mice).

What are you doing to these poor mice? What's your mouse pad, by the way?
