Daft Punk, eat your heart out. His original tracks are great as well, go to his Myspace and check out 'Shuriken' and 'For You' if you don't believe me.

Unreal.

Definite Daft Punk vibes off this kid, but it has something different, his music kicks rear end

I've always wanted to make disco house, but have virtually no experience with anything but fruityloops in high school.

Can I ask what kinds of plugins/samples you used and can you recommend any tutorials or anything?

Very cool, but I think you need a better sample library for your percussion! :D

These two sum it um really well. Your music is really good, but you might wanna start hunting some better percussion samples, some of them sound a little out of place.

I've only heard of Far Too Loud, but I remember liking a few of their remixes

Just singing the goddamn phrase "One More Time" and awkwardly dropping lyrics doesn't mean your lovely track has anything to do with Daft Punk. I mean, I want to stay nice and objective because to each their own, but gently caress. There's zero substance in that track. It's worthless.

Anyhow, I finally started playing around in Reason 5, and so far it's a blast. I've been intimidated by it for so long, and I know like the majority of you all use it every day at a semi pro level, but it feels good to finally sort of know what I'm doing. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have a first track complete and we can all make fun of it :)

It's not just One More Time, they include lyrics & samples from like all their songs, and references like all the song titles.

Which makes it infinitely worse than just attempting to ruin one of Daft Punk's songs.

edit: now I gotta stay up and re-listen to Discovery to cleanse my ear palate

Danger is pretty much the right answer to this question, but also look for some of Thomas Bangalter's solo stuff too

Also this 16-year-old french kid has nailed their sound pretty closely:

Don't hate me, but one of my guilty pleasures is what I guess is vocal trance? Its so good for chilling out to. Im hoping I can find more music like the following artists thats not horribly generic...

AtB
Dash Berlin
Kaskade

Unfortunately, the whole genre seems to be a bit generic.

That being said, I do like most of the vocalists Tiesto and Armin van Buuren work with.

Trance was my entrance into the world of electronic music, but I really didn't listen to enough before I started on house though.

Pteradactil Disco - Big rear end Biscuit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Dv7jDsOMTM (if t-house isn't really your thang just skip to 3:27 for the best part)

No Regular Play - Owe Me (Nicolas Jaar Mix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXRpqh1ORXQ definitely one of my favorites out right now

Davide Squillace & Luca Bucchetti - Around The Bay (Martin Buttrich Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6eyFeQ0VVo

Mike Hulme - Set the Controls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0KtIIO_9nA not tech-house but so what

Some of these kinda (only slightly) reminded me to listen to Parov Stelar's "Electroswing" I used to hear on di.fm's Electro House channel

I saw Madeon in Toronto a while ago, and his live set is pretty good, but short. He played for around an hour and that was it. To be expected I guess, since he doesn't have a ton of his own material to play. His sound got cut off twice (At least one of the times was due to some idiot rushing at the stage) but other than that it was a great show. Also he looks like he's 12. It was really weird seeing someone so young up there.

Watching some of his live shows on youtube, it's pretty clear that he screws up a few times, but the kid is clearly a talented DJ and is more fun to watch/listen to than people who play pre-recorded sets.

edit: Also I've also loved his tastes in artists/samples

This is absolutely loving fantastic, between this and the Daft Punk/Nile Rodgers/Paul Williams album that will hopefully be much more like Discovery or maybe even Bangalter's and Rodger's old work, I may buy the first actual albums I have in like 10 years.
