Honestly, dancegiving will be pretty good times, lineup aside. Just bought my ticket and downtown fort lauderdale is always a blurry night for me that somehow always ends at Scarletts

I want to suggest something, and maybe someone with some programming experience or database knowledge can pick this up. I want to help make our music discussion more relevant and easier to access. For example, music suggested could be inputted but an individual member or by multiple members and archived. So if someone were reading this discussion on page 110 and saw a post of Justice and liked them, they could access the database and look for all tracks and remixes by Justice and get direct YouTube or Soundcloud links to them. Would something like this be possible through some google tools/database program etc? Goon only accessible of course, but I think it could be great not just for the electro/house discussion but for NMD. I would be willing to help out in the design/production of such a device, but I would like to help make it easier for people to access music of OUR genre and expand their knowledge of what they may be interested in.

melaTONE posted:I dunno if it has been posted yet but lately I have been listening to alot of Yelle and I think this is a pretty awesome remix! Also, the dancing is pretty funny. Some good French Synthpop. I have no idea what they are saying but I love it. Nathan Barnatt is loving awesome. His video for pop culture is even better. And although slightly off-topic, his Keith Apicary videos and 8-bit life is pretty awesome/funny too.

a milk crime posted:lol of all the weeks you have to pick an essential mix to post, you pick Steve Aoki's? This is a little late of a reply, but to be fair the options you gave are 100% different from his 'taste' in music. Call his selection bad-posting or whatever, but I think you could have given him some better suggestions to look towards. Steve Aoki to Nina Kraviz is like suggesting to someone who loves playing football to try playing ice hockey. edit: Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but I feel like a lot of new posters in here get shut out by some of the 'bitter vets' in this thread. a milk crime posted:this was in reply to me: Well said and I only speak from experience. I was that cute newbie and bounced corners around much worse music than Steve Aoki. That is until I realized how terrible he was in comparison to some of the great electro/house/etc legends. And with that being said, you do post some of the best music in this thread; I hope you aren't; [I know you wont] be discouraged from posting more great music.

ashgromnies posted:Ultra people: which hotels do you recommend looking into? Couch surf it! Way more practical since you wont really be sleeping much. edit: I only suggest that because if you think 300$ is expensive, then between the gas, food, etc you are looking at paying a lot more for a hotel at this point. Unless you decide to stay in ft lauderdale and then youre still looking at 150$/night.
