Just checked out the new Foamo mix on Kiss 100, and I really like this new Destroy Disco track. Seems like more and more producers are starting to copy Jack Beats wobbly signature style (Foamo himself being one of them, his remix of Hey! is a total JB knockoff)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A93mfw6qjPI

I think everyone's grandmother has been copying Hostage's style for that past year. Everywhere you turn - it's wobble this and fidget that. Ai ai ai!
I do dig the fact that a lot of it is not straight up house, but throws in breaks and dubstep too.
But for the most part, LFO wobbles are the new sidechain.

I don't understand why you'd point to Hostage as the place of origin though, I definitely think Jack Beats (and to a certain extent Foamo) have had the largest parts in fusing fidget with dubstep. Look at their edits of Where's My Money (and Foamo's edit of In For The Kill). I might be biased because I think Jack Beats' release on Cheap Thrills was the best release of the year while Hostage basically hasn't done anything worthwhile in '09.

I didn't mean to imply that omg, Hostage invented wobble/fidget. It just seemed to me that he's been around longer than most of the other guys, in terms of releasing his own stuff.
With Jack Beats, I always feel like his remixes are better than his original tracks. UFO EP wasn't bad, but wasn't spectacular. It seems like AC Slater is better at this game.

As for Hostage, he just released Valhalla EP on Nightshifters (one of my favorite new labels this year), though I've only had a chance to check 2 tracks off of it so far.

b-more

I am in no way an expert on this, but I think you'd like DJ P.O.L.Style, DJ Donna Summer, Rob Threezy and some other guys on Nightshifters.

Somebody correct me if my understanding of b-more is misinformed.

So uh.. guess who's newest EP dropped yesterday?

I'm listening to it right now, and I have to say that Danger is definitely straying from his original "Final Fantasy" sound into dancier stuff.

It's not something I can make up my mind on just yet. On one hand, he's straying moving on into something different, on the other - it's his original sound that put him on the map.

i think what alot of people dont realize that most people in the "scene" come from punk/hardcore roots. Like, flash back to 1996 and you'll find a young me at some victory records band show in a small venue somewhere goin' off.

I was definitely surprised to find out that Congorock was the guitarist (I think) from Death of Anna Karina.

And I'm personally digging "Rifoki", to an extent.

What's the deal with Die Antwoord? Everything I've heard from them is pretty insane. Wat Pomp doesn't seem to have a release and the it's hard to find much else besides Enter the Ninja (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc3f4xU_FfQ).

Wat Pomp can be swooped here: http://maddecent.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/05-Die-Antwoord-Wat-Pomp.mp3

They have the $o$ (featuring Wat Pomp) album, which I've been listening to almost constantly for the last week.

From what I've read, they're technically a joke, but still so so good.

Thanks to the Mad Decent blog, obviously.

Also, anyone into Riva Star?

So Kavinsky just released a new EP - Nightcall.

It's definitely not bad, though I'm liking Gaspard Auge's (aka Dustin Nguyen) remix of Nightcall more than the original. But overall, the whole EP isn't enough. Kavinsky needs to release a full album.

Also if anyone can recommend any artists like Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT etc. I've been listening to all the mixes posted in this thread but still pretty ignorant about everything.

On the heavier side of the Bloody Beetroots: SebastiAn, Huoratron, Distrakt, Owl Vision, The Toxic Avenger. Also Proxy.

For more melodic, italo-disco - just go with Cecile.

The Rubber EP leaked.

The title track sounds like pretty much your typical Mr Oizo, maybe more agressive. Gaspard Auge's Tricycle Express sounds like Planisphere, so you can kind of guess the direction that Justice will be taking on their next album. Polocaust sounds like it could have been written by both of them. And the Flying Lotus remix of Rubber definitely has his touch, but is more sped up than the usual Flying Lotus stuff.

And yeah the new Skrillex EP is ridiculous. I think people would be more receptive to him if he didn't look like well like a 7th grade gothic lesbian.

It's sad that I had more respect for the guy when he was still in From First To Last (as horrible as they were). All he's doing now is making wobble wobble electro/dubstep bangers for tweens.

I love justice (the most obvious of the electro banger genre), and I love (some) dubstep, all these new acts take the worst and most boring elements of them.

A couple contributions to the thread:
Teki Latex - Dinosaurs With Guns (produced by Noob)

I know the album came out last year, and even though I don't speak a drop of swedish, Boys II Men is probably my favorite electro-hip-hop record.

I messaged him on myspace, but he hasn't been on since July, and I really really want to get high quality versions of a few of his tracks...
