I may have purchased Eurostar tickets to see Danger's new live show debut in Paris on the 5th March. I will be on a train under the sea and end up in a country that mildly dislike English people, should be fun.

New SebastiAn! Embody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDAKBsNw7zs Apologies if this has been posted already, this is pretty slick and a bit of a departure from his previous glitchy stompy dance tracks. It's off the new album due in May which I'm really looking forward to. (along with Danger and Wolfgang Gartner's).

Saw Jaguar Skills live last night. I'm not entirely sure whether he was drunk off his arse or was having an off-day but he wasn't as on-point as I was expecting having heard him be talked up by everyone. It didn't help that I spent the lead-up to his show in another part of the club enjoying tracks that were perfectly mixed/dropped by a bunch of unknowns. Wandering in to hear Skills leaving the bass out of Congorock's 'Babylon' at the drop missing drops entirely and leaving a deck live over the PA whilst he fast forwarded to a drop meant I left pretty disappointed. ...this is a dude who has a slot on BBC radio. It seems like a lot of his set was pre-setup anyway so why not just do the whole thing and avoid errors completely? That aside, his schtick works and the crowd loved the whole "I say 'Jaguar', you say 'Skills' " as well as the whole mashup thing and his track selection was pretty good but I heard most of it from the other DJs playing before him. Meh/10

I saw him in my wonderful home town. I think I've been spoiled by both DJs and music in that I mix a bit myself so I know what to expect and I know a fair amount of tracks and what they do. As such I was expecting big tings but he didn't deliver (for me, anyway). I enjoyed the 'Catchphrase' square select sound effect thrown randomly into one of his tracks immensely, it was pretty funny. He was good but I've seen better, I'm thinking maybe he has too many effects and samples set up to go and got a little bit muddled up. The CDJ seek over the PA was unforgivable though, it was a good 15-20 seconds too.

It said to me 'mixing is more important than my daughter' which is not something any sane person would want to admit in an interview/statement. There's being a lovely parent and then there's being a lovely parent and admitting it to the world. Neither thing is good.

Yikes, someone actually likes Raise Your Weapon? It's a terrible track on a massively disappointing album. I've noticed that he does his best work on collaborations (the Kaskade collab being IMO his best poo poo). RYW is just straight up bad from any perspective, it's a terrible dubstep track. Mau5 does best when he sticks to his 8/9 minute long house poo poo and I hope he realises this. I thought it was a bit lovely to stick what IMO are a few 'experimental' tracks on 4x4=12, it seemed like some of it was work in progress rather than actually finished or refined. Flavour of the month Madeon's remix actually made RYW listenable though which is quite some doing. Random Album Title is a solid album though I do tend to get a little bored of it after a while.

One trick pony.

Osh posted:Wolfgang Gartner just released his album on iTunes, and it should be on Beatport in a couple of hours. Half of it's classic Wolfgang bangers, and the other half sounds like Top 40. I like them bangers, personally -- stuff like Cognitive Dissonance. Seeing as I've already bought one third of the tracks on it I think I'm feeling a liiiiittle let down as I've kinda spoiled the album for myself but what else is here is good poo poo. Dude just put his head down and turned poo poo out. Shrunken Heads and The Champ are favourites at the moment and the opening track is a good-un too. Welcome Back is funky as poo poo too, Gartner did good on this album for sure.

Boys and girls I'm having trouble recalling the name of a song but I remember the video, it had a stupidly attractive girl in it driving about with a chimp. They pull into a gas station/supermarket and grab some goodies. I seem to remember it being along the lines of Miami Horror kinda music. Please help me, my brain cannot stand forgetting things.

Yup, that was her. Cost for flights and other assorted crappery is about £180 in total as she's got a friend over there who we'll be staying the couple of nights with. I paid a good £250 or so to see Danger in Paris back in March on my own so she's done well. You going now? *edit: Ah you are, awesome. I'll be the guy who looks like he's from out of town.
