GZA Genius posted:Something off with that tempo, it would sound better if he speed it up just a little bit. Maybe not go so harsh with the Daft Punk sound. No trance thread anymore which is a major bummer. My favorite podcast is The Global Warmup from Judge Jules--lots of sort of heavy stuff and hilarious puns. If you haven't, check out Vonyc Sessions from Paul van Dyk--it's PVD so everyone's heard of him but none of my trance head friends listen to it. I listen to the podcast, not the radio show. You didn't mention a state of trance so on the off chance you don't listen to it there you go. For more trancey trance you can't beat future sounds from Aly and Fila. Not really my thing but I've got a few friends who swear by it.

? Kill Frenzy's album just dropped and hot gently caress it owns. Kill Frenzy has up til now made really groovy very sexy tech housey stuff and is branching out here. Reviews have been as far as I can tell overwhelmingly positive. This album might steal the top spot of 2014 for me. http://youtu.be/GhpyuHgEpj8 XXX http://youtu.be/XSaKckYl7YQ Gorilla Gay Horney fucked around with this message at 04:14 on Nov 11, 2014 |

Anyone have any idea who the Special Guest for the Anjunadeep shows has been? I'm really hoping for Cubicolor or Croquet Club but I don't know if I should dare.

I actually don't mind Flux when I'm in the mood for dubstep but knowing that collab exists totally kills my enthusiasm for the Prodigy album. You can't talk about your upcoming album changing the face of dance music and have someone like that on it at the same time.Vernacular posted:Figured I'd crosspost this promo mix I made for a music festival I'm playing in London from the DJ mixes thread in ML. Moody and melodic, house and techno warmup vibes that some of you might get into!

kind of a vague request but I'm looking for tunes that are for lack of a better description sex music. Think like this from Kill Frenzy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhpyuHgEpj8 It doesn't have to necessarily be explicitly sexual like this track from Jesse Rose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBQVS5LyoFA This is instrumental but kind of fits the bill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BYF1TB431k Basically I just want stuff that really throbs, you know? it's not even the sexual aspect that I'm necessarily after it's this sort of insolent attitude idk. gimme your favorite tunes with big fat low ends that you can't help but wiggle your pelvis to I guess

The BPM and energy and a few other things probably aren't where they need to be for this to be house but George FitzGerald's album came out today and it is pretty perfect. I figured since we were talking about him a few posts ago https://soundcloud.com/george-fitzgerald/call-it-love-if-you-want-tofeat-lawrence-hart Really downtempo and moody, not what I expected from GFG to be honest but it is hot hot poo poo.

MrSargent posted:I just bought tickets to see Eric Prydz Epic 4.0 in San Francisco and could not be more excited. From the couple of videos I have seen of Epic 3.0 last year, it looks like it is going to be an amazing journey. I know there are a few people here from the bay, anyone else planning on going? I went to 2 at Palladium in LA and 3 and I can assure you you're in for the experience of a lifetime. The production value makes everyone else in the game look like amateurs. There is absolutely nobody else putting on shows approaching this. Enjoy!

To me the album had the same problem that Mark Knight's album did--there's just not a ton on there for dedicated fans who have been buying all of his singles over the years. With that being said, I've been waiting for track 3, collider, since he first debuted it on his old radio show in like 2013 so that at least makes me happy. I was really excited for two debut albums from two absolute titans of progressive house to come out within a couple weeks of one another but was a little bummed to be already familiar with 90% of the material.

Check out Anjunadeep. They have an hour long podcast every Thursday with different folks on it. It can vary from week to week but generally speaking it's good downtempo deep house tunes. Every podcast is available on their SoundCloud. They also have compilation CDs available that you might be able to stream from Spotify. Genre names are really really nebulous and not something to spend a ton of time worrying about. There is a difference between chillout and deep house in theory but deep house isn't deep house anymore and everything is getting really heterogeneous these days. Trance is usually much faster than anything labeled "house," which typically describes medium speed groovy/funky poo poo with a specific drum pattern designed to get the listener to wiggle and move. Deep house strips back the explicit danciness. Vaporwave is its own thing I think.
